A very well written story

The main cause of most of their trouble was lack of communication, and child behavior on her part. He didn't know his wife well enough to know some of her basic needs when it came to a sexual relationship. I do like happy endings though, and glad the author does too. Thanks for the very good story.....Rich

Well Written Whorror Story!

I suspect there are many wimps out there who are able to put infidelity behind them, and continue the marriage albeit; as something less than a man. Settling for second best, or "first place looser. These unfortunate individuals who are so desperate and insecure, that they must cling to some cheating slut in their pathetic delusion of love, are to be pitied. Perhaps even scorned. It is these same "qualities" that drive these wimps back into the relationship, are what caused the slut to disrespect him to the point of taking a lover.

Enjoyed it

I'm so glad that in this last chapter, when it is finally revealed 'what did she just say', that she was pregnant, and it was with her husband.

Regarding the 'wimp' issue: I don't think of the hero here as a 'wimp.' When he discovers that his wife is having an affair (although he suspects earlier affairs as well) he makes her leave to give them both space, and doesn't simply run back into her arms, saying all is forgiven.

He makes sure that she understands that her behavior was unacceptable, and he has fairly good reasons to believe that she won't repeat her wicked ways again, before he agrees to reconcile.

And finally, he sticks to his guns, despite the conflict that it causes, regarding being sure that the children are his. With the counseling, his wife starts to understand how she failed him, and he was learning how to strengthen the marriage and prevent future splits.

They reconnected the emotional ties, and she dumped the baggage of 'the other man.' Good show!

I was right.......

when I said she'll be pregnant. The story was good & well written but there were few problems. 1. The wife's character was too childish & immature. 2. Husband thinking too much about John, their affairs, when they had sex & all such things. You can't hang in the middle, either this side or that side. I mean accept her or divorce her. 3. All they do is Sex, Sex & Sex. They are facing the biggest problem in their life instead of solving it, waste time in having SEX. 4. The husband's character was a bit surprising, I mean specially in the second chapter where he suggest going at her place for dessert & admiring her body. 5. If he lusted her body so much why he let her have an affair for 3 times. 6. How come she never got pregnant by john. She slept with him so many times that I lost the count. 7. The wife is full of surprises "wet t shirt contest" & all. Getting her pregnant was just a formality to get them together. No husband will take his wife back after a series of affair, no matter if it's with the same person. One more problem about this story is that there were too much "hint" in second chapter. It was crystal clear that she'll get pregnant, the child has to be his & they get back together. If I were in your position, would have avoided "one month time after the birthday" it gave the clear idea. The biggest problem is I really liked the story. It was a good entertainment but with too many flaws. Anyways, thanks for the story.

Enjoyable

Those who can not accept that people get back together

after an affair really should look at statistics. It is very difficult but if it happens 1% of the time then the author is in to a legitimate topic with certain hold on reality, but

it is a lot larger percentagem than this.

Neither of the protagonists is a sympathetic figure but they are interesting and make a good story.

One question, did he check back on the gossip columnist to find out if his cuckhold status was public long before he suspected anything! It is interesting that Passing was not known as his wife even to his secretary.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 15 years ago
So the husband figured she was fucking John on

the morning of her birthday? As one old saw indicated, why did your wick where another has already wet the well? The DNA test can be done during pregnancy, waiting eight months or more made little sense. Amniotic fluid can be taken and the DNA analyzed very easily. It doesnt, never has, taken a month for them to analyze it. I find it interesting the males DNA was hard to determine since the Y chromosome from the father is the Y for the son, it should have been easier than for the daughter. And yes with multiple egg pregnancies women, like dogs, can have offspring with different fathers fairly easily, not common but easy. I find it totally weird he even wanted to be back with such a liar and cheat. Women like that can only be loyal for a very short period of time, he will have to be aware 24/7/365 as nothing has really changed her mental or emotional makeup, sorry but people are who they are, maybe its in their genes! But if that is true they can never change can they and we really dont want to know that do we?

I like how you wrote, I didn't like what you choose as a sort out of the events. I feel it as imossible or suited for SciFi.

But the tale was so well written, hence the high score. I think that one of the hardest things people could live with is betrayal, and doubt. Still, well written.

Sweet Ending

Sometimes authors have a sweet ending and then ruin it by doing a sequel where she is still cheating. Don't do it.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 15 years ago
Wife arranged for pregnancy

The whole birthday bit was a setup to get pregnant and so force them back together. She must have deliberately stopped taking her birth control. Since there was no talk of wanting a child, the husband should have questioned Shannon about this; rather than focus solely on whether the children were his. That's why she wants to broadcast and thus have even more pressure on him to accept. As a husband, I would never agree -- What if there had been complications (breech, c-section needed).

The author does a good job portraying two self-centered (in bad ways) individuals. The husband skips four parties where the wife enters a wet T-shirt contest and never finds out? She goes bra-less when engaging in water fights with the neighbors and he doesn't notice? I guess they deserve each other.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 15 years ago
Well, they both get what they deserve.

The story was well written, well plotted, and the ending was clear relative to resolving the plotted conflict. The author did a good job.

However, these two people will NEVER achieve a happy and long lasting married life. She will always, and I mean always, be a cheater and a pathological liar. He will always be suspicious (albeit rightly so) and that suspicion, combined with further cheating on her part, will finally end the marriage. She is deceitful and he is ultimately non-forgiving. He will be justified in his inability to put aside his memories of her cheating, but, nevertheless, the marriage will end. It is inevitable.

The inevitability will depend upon the author, however, since this is fiction. But if an epilogue were written, that would be the only possible outcome. Perhaps that is why some commentors pleaded that an epilogue not be written.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 15 years ago
Your best yet

I would rate this as high as almost any story in this genre in the past year. There was no quick fix, no revenge, and they did stay together. The only only criticism I will make is that for such a careful and thoughtful man, why did they not try counseling sooner? BUT, it is still an excellent tale no matter what the lurking women hating readers who always gripe unless some terrible revenge is extracted think. Can't wait for the next one. Thanks.

Why not have a happy ending?

I liked this story. I liked the characters as well. They were both flawed people who got over whatever their problem was, so what is wrong with that? two people who love each but have a relationship that is not working would and should at least try to sort it out. Yes okay she cheated and yes she cheated more than once. But hey on this site aren't readers and writers alike saying that you can seperate love and sex. I can't personally but others can. Perhaps the wife in the story did? Anyway I enjoyed the read and well done for finishing it. The only complaint I have is that some of the sentences didn't seem to make sense. Apart from that well written. I am looking forward to you next story.

I liked it but......

there were flaws. It was impossible to know that the husband never came to know about the "Wet T shirt contest". It happened so many times.

The wife playing water sports with kids even after she became mother of two show's here immaturity. Agreed that there is a child in everyone but wearing nothing beneath while playing also show's her immaturity.

What about John??? what happened to him?? We only know that he wasinvolved in something related to drugs happaned.

Both of them need some serious help. Husband comparing or referring eveything he does with John shows that he is still insecure about his wife or maybe it's his ego. Wife was a cheater and cheated so many times and everytime there was problem in their marriage she ended in bed with John and took the easy way out.

I do agree that you gave too many clues that it was predictable, she will get pregnant. Overall a good story but could have been much better.

Hmmmm...........

So lets see, 3 different affairs, with the same guy. Him giving her presents that she treasured and kept from her husband. The night they split up she immediately went to her lovers house for a round of sex

And all this went out the window because her husband decided for 2 months to have sex with her and got her pregnant, and her and him having Kids fixed the problems in their marriage and they decided to give it another try.

I can't believe kids were used to make this story a happy ending. Everything you wrote up to the point she was pregnant was mental masturbation. It served no purpose. Why the heck did the husband even get mad? I mean he was going to have that "Wild hot sex" his wife was getting from her lover, so if he was going to give it to her why did he even get mad in the first place? Why didn't he just call the other guy, ask him for tips on what his wife liked, then just do that? Everything else was a waste of effort if he was going to just imitate what his wife liked from the other guy. He could have saved his blood pressure by a quick call, where he thanked the other guy for finding what button's his wife liked, and could he please share with him what those buttons were.

Just a few plot holes . . .

I think the story was a bit repetitive and proceeded too slowly at times. Based on the timing in this third chapter, it would seem that Tony (our hero's name) and Joanna have sex just a few weeks after vaginal delivery of twins. If so, it's much too soon -- her vagina won't be healed yet. Also, John's call about the FCC investigation confused me. Joanna denied Tony had anything to do with setting the FCC on John, but we know Tony has a friend or three in high places, including someone who has risen very high in the FCC! In the USA, a marriage has at best a 50% chance of succeeding. I would only give Tony's and Joanna's a 25% chance. I'm not sure another chapter is needed but it would help tie up some loose ends.

Outstanding

I loved it. Ch. 03 was fantastic. You did an excellent job of portraying the conflict Tony was going through, likewise with the differences between Joanne and him. They both learned something.

I felt Joanne was truly sorry and glad to see her put John in his place. I was also very pleased to see Tony exacted some vengeance on him. I just love reconciliation and retribution.

TY for writing, this was the story I have enjoyed most this year.

but Joanne's arrogance and lack of remorse prior to discovery was not consistent with her behavior after being kicked out. She after just getting fucked by her lover in the bathroom asked in anger "Tony, what are you doing home?" She later confesses to lying in bed after being fucked by John. Once she realized that her marriage was in trouble she send him e-mails and try to win him back including getting pregnant. She sorry that she was caught but not in going back to John 3 times. Obviously, John was not husband material because she did not divorce Tony to be with him. What was disturbing was the absence of talking about STDs since the whole question of who was the father of the kids meant that Joanne and John fucked bareback. Given these drug infested parties that John (and perhaps Joanne) went to why didn't Tony check himself for STDs? In the end I did not get why Joanne cheated. Her chaeting was so casual she make reference to it on her radio show and she had no problem lying to Tony's face having just fucked John. Yet we have a happy ending even though Tony can not know when she will cheat again

AnonymousAnonymousabout 15 years ago
hmm..

well, the other commenter had it right, you did capture the torn emotions brillantly, but it still seemed...fake on her part. all that time she spent with john, not just sex but talking, venting, etc. which could be worse bc it almost sounded like he was a boyfriend and not just a sex buddy. i know you wrote it, but she lied, lied, and lied some more. she took her frustrations out on john, didnt try to make the relationship better in anyway and then suddenly she sees the light! she realizes what a great guy he is and what a jackass she is. that pretty much sums it up and it was kinda stupid and didnt seem real. although im not particularly happy he got back together with her, i am happy that you wrote how conflicted he was, even after they decided to work on their marriage. he still followed her every now and then, had problems with rage and trust. now that seemed real and honest. i also liked how even finding out he was the father, he wasnt reacting like one would think bc deep down he didnt know if he wanted a reason to leave her.

Was hard to keep reading the repetitive story

For most of the story I was outraged at the passive, self absorbed, controlling husband. His self pity in all his life, his lack of interest and acceptance of the wife was unreal. He didn't trust the wife, himself or anyone else. The author drew out each analysis and repeated it several times, making the reader strain to understand what the purpose was. The husband fundamentally disapproved of the kind of person the wife is but neither talked to her in a constructive way or changed his perspective on his wife to accept her. He didn't really love her. He just wanted her to conform to his standards of what he wanted in a woman. The passivity of the male character was beyond belief. Hiding pieces of the story until popping them up at the end to make a surprise didn't help the story, e.g. T-shirt contest. It just reinforced the weak character of the husband and of his detachment from his wife. No wonder she was tempted elsewhere.

This story is the definition

story for what is euphimistically called a wimp. This husbands state of denial is beyond apalling and his selfish wife is one of the most cunning and manipulative bitches you have created. Everyone is so sensitive in this story and it gives a bad name to sensitivity. 3 affairs!!! And he does nothing about the second and mopes around with eveidence for the third and he sits there as she describes each in detail after depressing detail and his reaction is really to do nothing except pout. There is no woman alive worth the agony he goes through unless he is an idiot. She uses him as her security as she goes out looking - accidents like that do not happen unless she wants them to - and he numbly does almost nothing except pout and drown in denial. I wish I was a good enough writer to write a follow where the husband gets testosterone injections and gets the guts to tell her to go to hell, strips her of all her security, sues the radio station so she loses her job and then he moves to California and finds a beautiful, loving, and faithful woman who wants children and to make him happpy and not depressed.

feminine side?

Good story for the most part. My only complaint was that it seemed to me that the author was constantly speaking as the husband, but from the wife's point of view. At first I checked to see if the author was female, but that doesn't seem to be the case, so I don't know why it seems that way. Perhaps the author was just going to extremes to present both sides of the issue. But, since the wife was already presenting her side, it seemed like the husband was being double-teamed. It really makes the husband come across as a sucker, and a good possibility to be hit with a 4th, 5th, 6th . . . time for his wife to get together with her 'better' lover.

Very Realistic

Yeah, she cheated, but he set her up for it in a lot of ways. From what I can see, if he would have let her be herself and learn to listen and talk, she would never had cheated, nor had the itch to in the first place.

A well written sad wimpy tale of a total loser

The guy is a mope. What more does she have to to to convince him that she is a total slut. Her behavior is so off on so many levels from the repeated cheating to the drugs and alcohol that she occasionally uses.

Jake Rivers is a talented writer. This story is just not one of my favorites due to the character of the protagonist. The guy is just a wimpy mope.

I remember reading DJ Wife last year but couldn't remember the ending . . .

so I read it again today. And I liked it even better this time around. I was moved by the depth of the characters through their conversations and thoughts-- Yes Tony was wimpy at times that I actually called him a wimp out loud only to change my mind later as I realized he could easily be me. And Joanne deserved to be kicked out harder and uncereoniously but she repented and demonstrated she truly loved Tony.

I found DJ Wife an intelligent and moving story. It evoked memories of a personal relationship . . . a marriage that could have turned out like Tony & Joanne but it didn't. In my case, kids would have made a difference. I love this story and the way it was writtten. Thank you.

Predators

Joanna was the victim of a predator, John. He's above her in her place of employment and takes advantage of her sexually. What an asshole.

I am of 2 minds about her cheating with the same guy 3 times. Even tho he was a predator she was getting emotional support from John and regardless of what she says about it, she was less of a wife because of that. On the other hand that it was with the same guy indicates that she is less of a slut than if she was fucking different guys. She broke it off with John twice without Tony knowing she was having an affair.

I'm still pissed at predators using vulnerable women as objects to seduce for egotistical purposes. Us guys are real shits sometimes.

FYI I am in the work-it-out if the wife is not out screwing every Tom, Dick (no pun intended) and Harry category.

jasonnhjasonnhalmost 13 years ago
Never addresses the issue

He kicks her out because she had three affairs. Then he spends her birthday with her screwing her silly but still doesn't want to get back together with her. Then she is pregnant so all is now OK? Sounds like the classic woman getting pregnant to save her marriage. And that works out well how often?

Another thing that I found really irritating is the criticism of both of them. She is a public personality and a free spirit. The two kind of go together. He's a bit of a straight arrow. They KNOW they are different kinds of people and yet decided that they wanted to get married. Neither one has ownership of the only correct way to live your life. His way is just as valid as hers. And he's ashamed of her because she's flirty and a bit goofy? She's pissed because he needs to have her not act like a cat in heat at his company parties? She can't control herself? She doesn't understand that many business frown on overt sexual behavior?

He makes an observation in the first part that comes to the crux of the matter. He notes that she is not easy to get along with either and yet he didn't seek out a playmate for himself like she did. She whines about his behavior. He agonizes about mistakes he made. Pardon me, but I didn't realize that you are required to be perfect to expect your spouse to be faithful. Not notice she got a new hairdo? That's a reason for her to jump in bed with someone else. God help him if he leaves the toilet seat up. It's even worse because NOW, when she tells him what bothered her in the past, HE CHANGES!!!!!! Maybe if she had bothered to tell him in the first place instead of jumping into bed with her lover he would have adjusted long ago. Is she willing to make the changes needed to HER behavior? He seems to make the rationalization that her cheating was understandable because he wasn't the perfect husband. First, that's pathetic. Annoying behaviors don't justify adultery. Second, significant amounts of her criticisms of him are unjustified. He clearly shows he IS observant of many things and goes out of his way to take what he notices into consideration, the coat he buys her for example.

In the end she's a cheater who cheaply rationalizes her behavior and he just does nothing about it.

This story meandered but it was true 2 what would happen IRL

Commenters seem to want a more linear plot. I empathize with that but feel the author ''kept it real '' throughout all three segments. If your mate has a affair, the quality and quantity of the years are a factor versus the quality time she/ he spent with lover.

If you do decide to 'rehab' the relationship there are good days and bad ones as depicted here. It wasn't 'fun' at all times reading this story but it was definitely worthwhile. I thank the author for sharing.

P.S. The narrator had a backhanded style that I admired. He took her back but changes were made by both parties and there was a potential dealbreaker where she HAD to accept her word alone was NOT enough given past deceptions. The DNA test HAD to confirm he was the father. Nice. In the end , his actions though borderline belated WERE effective. He was not a wimp.

Great story.

I am thrilled that I was given the opportunity to read such a wonderful, well thought out and beautifully written story. Thank you tabooteller. I feel I must go back and reread the first couple of pages though. As I was reading your terrific saga, I kept thinking that the male protagonist was not worthy of the female and this hampered my total enjoyment. Hopefully I am wrong and the reread will assuage this nagging itch...if not, then this would be my only complaint...that the husband was never written with enough confidence and self confidence and therefore, the reader was cheated out of empathizing with both characters. To be fair, there was some redemption with his revenge with the FCC, but not enough to mitigate my frustration with the first two and a half segments. Nonetheless, I really relished this read. Again, thank you Tabooteller for sharing your exhilerating storytelling talents with me.

hey demantoid

Imbuing the male protagonist with more self-confidence would make the plot impossible. A self-confident man dumps the slut and gets a hot new gf before the ink is dry - if the slut ever gets back in the picture it is maybe a booty call or fwb one-timer.

The reason this story works is because the guy lacks self confidence so we believe he thinks his best option is to become a cuckold. In his mind it is cuckoldry or loneliness; he cannot fathom another babe is out there for him because his self image is too low.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 12 years ago
Yes and Most Likely NO

She had her first affair shortly after they were married. She was at the month long course and started sleeping with the guy in the second week - she/they were not having any difficulty at that time, she was just horny, seduced and went ahead and fucked the guy.

You wrote all the circumstances and justificaions (note I didn't write reasons) for her infideliy but she obviously is comfortable with having sex with other men - it just dodn't phase her.

Now, she realized that she wants and will miss a man she does love and that she cannot have her cake and eat it too.

So, how long before another John comes along with a big Peter, a Randy smoothness and stiff Johnson.

Author, I liked your writing, your story premise, though it was wordy and long but it is entertaining...BUT, he's an educated professional man - I'm having a little difficulty there. I did like how his friends took care of John - ideally they put in a word to bubba to make him welcome and feel like homey!

Difficult

This was a good story and was terrifically well written. Nonetheless, it was a hard story to process and deal with.

Everyone handles infidelity, when that grim visitor shows up, very differently. There is no manual of arms that all men read and respond to in a predictable, one size fits all manner. Indeed, the same can be said of women who transgress the bounds of fidelity. Many of the writers and those who comment on this site would have us believe they are all of one type, and likewise they will perform in one wrote fashion.

I can then appreciate a story such as this, that tries to show us a couple who has erred. The wife has wronged her husband, and done so on three separate spans of time. We also have a husband who is wounded deeply, yet understands he is guilty in a small way, and tries to overcome all this. We see it work for this couple and they go on.

There are nagging problems in the characters, however, that made it difficult for me to truly enjoy the story to its fullest. The wife is almost flippant in her adultery. She nearly wears it like a badge of honor, almost as if she wants her husband to know, for she certainly doesn't strive hard to conceal it. Yet this blatant disrespect morphs near instantly into a fierce loving determination to heal him. The husband also has some strange quirks. He goes to a great deal of trouble to find evidence of her infidelity. He knew she was cheating on a prior occasion, he just couldn't prove it. Yet on two separate occasions he does not have the strength to even go in and see her cheating with his own two eyes. This just doesn't pass the smell test, for me at least. Again, we see this spineless creature overcome his quite understandable fears and embrace a relationship that would strike dread into the heart of any man for its lack of assurance and trust. Indeed, the hardest thing for me to imagine is why they went to the trouble of all this, as in the beginning of the tale they did not seem to much like each other at all.

Despite all the above, I did enjoy the tale. It was a fresh look from a standpoint not often visited. There is a large segment of readers in this genre who are loathe to see any reconciliation after infidelity, no matter the circumstances. A writer has to be brave to attempt that, and if for no other reason that earns you at least my grudging respect.

why???

did the husband stay because he loved her, if you stripped a relationship like marriage of respect and trust would love alone be enough to let it survive and would that be love anyway???i wonder if the husband in this story and similar ones have some kind of of a submissive wimp streak in him that make him accept this and most importantly what kind of self respect does he have???

Seldom highlights, a plot spread out way too much, no real "flow", it seemed to me.

The Main character doesn´t appear believable - a timid man without the slightest esprit (how did he ever get his Job??), indecisive and leaving the impression of beeing somewhat infantile in his conclusions.

You usually do far better.

Wimp

Nope not this time at all. He was just a wimp and a cuckhold. I would have liked to see something with his getting back at John for doing what he did to their marriage.

catphan8catphan8about 11 years ago

I also love a happy ending, but not at all costs. The cheating is one thing, but the lies and deception are another. Like I said I love a happy ending but I think the RAAC guys are forgetting that when lies, deception and cheating occur it is rarely a happy ending, even if the author forces one. Those of us with our eyes open understand it took very little for her to betray him. A person doesn't just all of sudden develop morals that never existed in the first place. Maybe she won't betray him again but will that stop him from worrying about it. NOT A CHANCE!!!!! These RAAC stories never tell anything past the reconciliation and there is the rub. How can there be a happy ending, if every time the wife works 30 minutes late, his blood pressure sky rockets and he is just one breath from a heart attack. If you want to live the rest of your life that way by all means RAAC. I don't understand how that would be a very good way to live!!!

I love happy endings BUT...

I agree with most of the negative comments. She was never sorry enough, he was never man enough. When he heard them in the hot tub the first time and was too much of a wimp to confront them RIGHT THEN I should have stopped reading.

Genuine feeling

A writer who attempts to convey some genuine human feeling and he should be congratulated for that. Unsurprising that this upsets the headbangers who, I guess, remind us why we write in the first place. Fiction is a unique insight into the human consciousness - and conscience - and for some of us, what we see is not to our liking. But all we can do is describe it as accurately as our talent will allow. If we're honest, that is.

Great story

Thanks for a wonderful read. I admit that I too had misgivings about their ability to work through her deceptions and affair. I rather expected it to go the route of "Ohio's" "Blue Dodge Minivan" where the trust just can't be restored. However, sometimes people can reach a point of acceptance and move on because it's the right thing for the self.

I look forward to reading more of you stories.

From TT what a shock. Of course the cream pie lovers lap this shit up.

cantbuymycantbuymyalmost 11 years ago

Just read through these again and my opinion has not changed- it is a cuckie story with the listening audience all knowing his wife had a triple fuck buddie, she lived with him, and then the stupid husband really fucked up and knocked the slut up.

Three separate affairs and no real payback. He just lost the license. He intentionally used another mans wife in 3 separate affairs with her and still has his balls?

If you want a well written cuck story this is it.

Not a cuckold

I liked this story. It is not a cuckold story. He didn't accept her cheating on him. He may have forgiven her, but he didn't accept it. This author says that she never cheated again. Then that would imply that this was a success. All of the BTB people out there, really think. How boring would these stories become if they all ended the same way? Where is the suspense in that? Some end in divorce, some in in reconciliation. The reconciliation is a success if the person doesn't cheat again. That is what's important. When choosing to divorce someone over infidelity, there are two different types of people. One type divorces because he/she doesn't feel that the spouse will never stop cheating, and the other divorces because he/she just can't forgive the deed that was done. If a person falls into the second category, this person usually winds up bitter toward the opposite sex. This person carries their baggage to the next relationship and never really gets over it. I'm not saying that it's wrong to divorce a spouse who cheats. But you eventually have to forgive them and move on, or stay bitter forever. In my opinion, not forgiving someone and staying angry at them gives them way more power over you than they should have.

All in all, if a person chooses to divorce a cheating spouse, then they have that right. But if a person chooses to forgive a cheating spouse, and if the spouse doesn't cheat again, then that is just as much a happy ending as divorce. They are not a cuckold. Saying that a marriage HAS to end no matter the situation because someone cheated is like saying that you have to get rid of your car the first time it breaks down. If the problem can be fixed, then why not fix it?

AnonymousAnonymousabout 10 years ago
So, if I have this right...

....he gets back together with the woman who cheated on him three times. Three chapters of endless detail that still result in a serial cheater who will most likely do it again, if logic and habit prevail. Hmm. Is it well written? Yes. Did I like it? Hell no.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 10 years ago
Just quickly

I know it should have been a btb story & I guess you've disappointed many of your readers because it didn't happen, but that's what reality & life is like. This was more a tale of love & reconciliation & the hardships the cheating causes, so stop your bleating all you btb fans & just accept the author's right to tell his story the way he wants. Overall * 5

I am usually against reconciliation.

This story I can see it working, even though she had three "affairs" with one man, which was really one intermittent affair.

Both of them were messed up people and both of them grew quite a bit.

... and the betrayal was horrendous. There is NO excuse for that kind of betrayal but there is room, I think, for forgiveness and rebuilding. I think her "repentance" is real and that she wants the marriage to work. I hope that it does

I also want John to do hard time and never work in broadcasting again.

Definately a masterpiece

One of the best in LW category.

You took the time to tell the story the way you wanted.

I like reconcilliation stories WHEN THEY'RE BELIEVABLE! As this is.

I also believe in people having a change of heart and in selfless love. I think you've masterfully woven a story worthy of those concepts.

If you go back and read Ch. 01 you will find elements of the selflessness in the dialog after the affairs are uncovered. The conversations are pained and not your typical hysteria and fury.

I cringe whenever I stumble upon the BTB and wimpy cuclold Anon comments. What a miserable existance they must have.

AnonymousAnonymousover 9 years ago
Just curious

If you have to work to make a marriage cheating proof......what's the point? If one or the other is disposed to cheat, it's a waste of time "working" on it.

WACC with a RAAC...

Apoarently some don't know what makes a guy a cuckold. A wife having sex with another man means hubby is a cuck. Doesnt matter if he accepts it, as this hubby did, or not, whether he agreed, consented or was unwilling. this hubby is a total wimp. Why on earth wouldn't he find a lover of his own???? Oh, because he's a wimp. Wifey gets to play, suffer no co sequences except a very temporary separation ... and they live happily ever after. Get real.

A Hell of a story, Taboo Teller, thank you for writing.

I would like to point out one thing (to protect the wife of some yahoo who wants sex two and a half weeks after her giving birth). As an RN of over 45 years and a husband of almost 60 years let me inform the public that the usual time after giving birth is a 5-6 week period. I suppose that in some few cases it might be four weeks, I have been wrong before (but not much on this). I know you did not make this mistake deliberately. Maybe times have changed, used to they did not let new mothers go home the next day, either. Thank you again for your work, I am reading a lot more of your stuff, liked most of them.

Pappy7Pappy7about 9 years ago
Kept reading to try to find something

in the story that redeemed it. Didn't happen but it was an easy read from the technical standpoint if not the content. Even in her contrition there was arrogance. Did she embarrass him by her bizarre antics? Some times yes, but that was his cross to bear. Some people do things that aren't age appropriate and embarrass the more staid individuals around them. We all mature at our own pace. Do not see how he could live with her and her constant betrayal and lack of respect for him. And though I am not really that well versed on DNA testing, seems to me that the test are more accurate than "the baby might be yours". Oh well.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 9 years ago
Romance

There was romance, but there was just to much lying and cheating and he went along with it.

After all that it was an illusion of romance. You don't lie cheat, disrespect, say I'm sorry and it's gone.

She showed no remorse until he left her.

Not really sure where the romance was,all I could see was his weakness and her shallowness,I mean using her birthing as a DJ commercial, boy that's romantic she is facilitating and he has to put up with TV Cameras at such an intimate time. ,talk about sordid.

Romantic as watching your wifes lovers semen drip out of her .

Pappy7Pappy7about 9 years ago
Second read through,

sometimes I get more from a story by letting it sit for a while then re-read. Not so much this time. I agree with the anonymous posters from 3-26 and 1-22 about there being too much to get through. She did come across as arrogant and unrepentant for the most part. If she had really worried about what hubby thought she would have talked to him instead of John about their marriage. She seems to be the type who fucks who she wants to, when she wants to, married or not. And in her arrogance she is so "fine" that any man should take the seconds just to be around her. I don't think hubby had any spine, certainly no balls. Not anything to recommend reconciliation this time around either. So sad, well written doesn't always mean likable.

OneShotOneOneShotOneabout 9 years ago

I wouldn't have wasted my time on a story about a wimp who clearly falls into what educators used to call the "dull normal" category.

A very good story.

A couple of things. I was left with the impression they didn't know she was having twins. The DNA testing didn't sound spot on. "It seems I am probably Jimmy's father."

loveoverlustloveoverlustalmost 9 years ago
a COUPLE saved by TWINS . lol.

Pregnancy was cliche , of course. But, marriages dredging along due to kids is a cliche of our times.

This was a much better & more emotional chapter . You were successful in penning her remorse in the end. Both seemed to be changing for the better.

I didn't care much for the first two chapters. The series was saved by the last instalment .

5 for ch.3.

Really? He stays with her after 3 affairs?

What would it have taken for him to leave her and move to San Luis Obispo? Why did he stay? Why did he go to the party? When he over heard the conversation at the party why did he stay? Because the author wanted a reconciliation. Pure and simple. You went way too far out on a limb to make him take her back. He was gone and you dragged him back. No way a normal man gives a woman another chance after 3, count'em, three(!) affairs. No way to ever trust her again. This was simply an awful story. And do a better job of proof reading or editing. Still a lot of mistakes.

palewriterpalewriteralmost 9 years ago
He is an idiot. A willing cuck with no future assurances at all

the kids will suffer from their staying together and the "wife" suffered no consequences for her betrayal and deceit. He just endorses her infidelity. This is very very very sad.

The marriage can not be made cheater proof because , in fact, there is no marriage.

Seeker1107Seeker1107over 8 years ago
I am usually a btb member

In this case, he was a wimp. Not as bad as most, but not much better. She shat on him from a very great height and expected him not to do anything. This whole story could have and should have gone through in one story, not three. Also his going back to her after three affairs? I mean really? Did he shave without a mirror every day.. Only way he should have been able to. Story was almost true to life, ok he wasn't Rambo or what not, but he had absolutely no self respect. And she didn't respect him as well. He should have walked after the first time IMHO, but he kept going back for more. And she tells him that John is a more experienced lover? And he still went back to her? Ok at the end we see that he did go after the guy in ways that couldn't be traced back to him. However I think that that was written just so that the author could get out from under all the wimp/cuck comments.

Throughout the story, when he leaves her, the gossip columnist starts writing how her husband left her, or hasn't been seen with her in a while, how would they know unless they assume it is this John guy? Finally after two chapters of drivel in the third one he has some backbone and goes after John. Gave it a three. Best I could do.

Thank you for the offering.

So stupid and disgusting, he was not a wimp. He threw her out but still loved her. That is not being a wimp. She paid a real stiff price for her transgressions and had to prove herself to him again.
