Back in the day, I dated, at different times, two women who smoked cigarettes. Kissing them was very distasteful, in the literal sense.

I have also owned and managed businesses and outdoor areas where picking up smokers' casual litter was a daily chore.

I find the subject practices by the protagonist remarkable and distracting.
