Handy Andy

Jen was paralyzed by Andy's response. He'd taken everything in such good humor that she was thunderstruck at his response to this order. She almost called out or reached out to touch him, three or four times while he was dressing and gathering his tools. She couldn't believe he didn't even say anything before he walked out. She looked around her, at the beautiful work he'd done, yet one glance at the collar still on the floor left her with the taste of ashes in her mouth. She quickly straightened up, stashing the collar in a nearby closet and ran out to gather up her children. This was quite a blow to her burgeoning self-confidence and she almost called his cell phone as she drove to the school. As a credit to herself, she didn't. Instead she thought ahead to tomorrow, wondering if he'd even show up and if he did, how she could recover.
