The author shows a real feel for a woman's thoughts on her first act of betrayal of fidelity. Her deliberate act of taking off her wedding band in exchange for the type of sex she has never had with her husband is very telling. The story is complete but it leaves us wanting more as fregen aptly points out.<P>An extension of this story that deals with her guilt and the consequences of her actions would be very welcome, especially since Igreenwood seems so capable of exploring her emotional state.

That is why so many of us like Loving Wives category as it goes into what people feel when they commit adultery and take on a whole new idea of what being a spouse and mother or father really entails. It can be so emotional a scenario that it keeps you reading to see who these people really are and what are they going to do. The story is well written, but after a while you wish you could read a story in which the wife or husband did not cheat because they were drunk. If it weren't for out of town trips and drinking too much, 90% of the stories on Literotica would disappear. I guess that's life

Look, this was a well-written short story. I wish it would continue because it has so many possibilities. If you have constructive comments to make, then make them. Otherwise just don't leave a comment. If you don't like the genre, don't read it!

There are some very emotional issues brought up in this text. She conciously sheds her rings...that's not a trivial thing. She's not been able to communicate to her husband and that has messed her head, and this will do even more.

Good start and you've set the stage for a very emotional finish.

It is beyond my comprehension that many find this story good. Here is a story about a woman claiming to have been faithful to her husband and yet all it took was a little finger play and a couple of licks for her to remove her wedding ring. Hopefully she forgets it when she leaves. Maybe that way he will discover what she has done and leave her, taking his child with him.. He deserves so much better and she is unfit to be the mother of his child.

She admits that she is no longer inebriated, but a simple soft touch causes her to throw away her marriage vows. She immediately forgets her husband and child.

She also admits to never having told her husband what she wants, therefore denying him the chance to please her. She expects him to read her mind instead. She will go home and instead of communicating with him about her desires, she will simply find him lacking. Not too surprising as women tend to think men should read their minds.

This story contained no likeable characters. She was a cheating slut and Steve was an asshole for bedding a married woman.

The final nail in the coffin is that the story did not deal with the consequences of her actions. As it is it is just one more sad story glorifying cheating.

I hope the husband finds out and deals with this slut, cheating is cheating and if she were my wife she would be out of my life.

Good scene, tightly written. It could be part of a larger story, but just enjoy it for what it is. I am always a little dismayed at all the anger that stories of this type elicit; the vows to throw their own wives into the outer darkness if they did anything like this. Why do men who get so angry about fictional cheating wife stories keep coming back to read more? Masochism? Titillation and the resultant shame? Is their own love so weak and their own ego so large that they could never forgive their own wife a lapse in judgment? Do they apply this same harsh standard to their own behavior?

But sad. This woman couldn't confide in her husband about her desires. So she cheats, confiding in a stranger because there's no risk. More than likely this will destroy her marriage. She'll either wreck it out of guilt or out of resentment, expecting her husband to know what she needs without being told. I've seen this one play out in real life one too many times. I normally avoid this category of story because I dislike reading of infidelity, but your such a good writer I delved in, in spite of my dislike of the genre. Great story that I disliked the contents - if that makes any sense.

However, that type of question is ALWAYS there in our lives, until it stops!

Do you think cultural tours are being booked, or the bars and clubs of the barrios are in full swing? How about 4 floors in Singapore? Orchard? Lets not talk about Thailand! Now throw in the traveling salesman, where is the spouse? This story is just the opposite, instead of the husband in the room, we have the wife, just change the rules. Now perhaps her one night stand is also married too and she knows it, perhaps the wedding ring mark on his finger was already felt, thus the fear of any full time attraction would never happen. I see commenters never believing that a woman too can experience the same as a man when the opportunity presents itself when nobody of family or friends is near to enforce the marriage or vows. The moral of the story as I the reader see it, our spouses are not the policemen of our vows, Shannon should have governed herself accordingly as a married woman should, same would also apply to a married man. Regardless if perhaps which is not written, the husband of Shannon may not be working, laid off, unemployed and now a house husband, vows say rich or for poor, better or for worse. Clearly things are present in her life and attitude that say, regardless how loving the husband is or her happy family Shannon is not happy and looking at her wedding ring on the night stand and turning away means her family and husband clearly are not on her mind and her family home means nothing to her.

Cheating wives deserve pain.

I have read many stories involving a cheating spouse. Most of the time it is a cheating wife. I am always amused to read the comments by angry husbands who call these women sluts. They want to string them up by their tits. I have been married for many years and love my wife. However; over the years I have been tempted by circumstances to cheat. I always justified it by the fact that men are created that way. One day I realized women face the same temptations. It’s a natural human weakness. Why should I get bent out of shape if my wife gives in to temptation and strays? As long as she comes back to me as I have to her. Nothing has been posted by this author since 2014. That's too bad since lgreenwood is a very accomplished writer and storyteller. Perhaps the use of metaphor was a little overdone, but not over the top.

After 8 years of silence, I would propose some other author(s) would take up the sequel. I believe "finishthedamnstory" could have taken up the challenge - if they were still active.

The cheating aspect of the story didn't bother me as much as the wife being incapable of expressing what her sexual desires are. Humans aren't mind readers, ladies if you want it down and dirty just say it. It won't upset your partner, as a matter of fact most men love it when you vocalize your wanton cravings. Let's face the truth, sometimes we need directions.
