I grew up in upstate ny during the mid 70's. Hitching was an accepted way of travel between the small towns. I had some good car sex adventures with older men in my teens. Great story.

Personally, I do like a little more realism in my stories. I don't imagine someone like Douglas not using protection in this modern age of disease. You could have either written it in, or changed the setting to a pre-1983 time. Of course, that would have altered Doug's story some.

I can see you expanding on these two characters in many ways. I'm primarily into romance myself (in all its shapes and forms), but I see endless potential for a sequel and even prequels.
