i see this as a bridge chapter so i don't have many comments other then i think its cute that someone finds the time to perceive racism when the world they came from is fake, the specie they thought they were they weren't, and the specie they are is a shape shifter. last its good to see the kids Hank raised aren't much smarter then the ones he didn't

Yeah, I thought I might need longer to finish than I ultimately did. When I said that, I was trying to err on the side of caution.
I see your point about it being strange that they'd care about race, since they're not even human. But I think if you thought you were human for 18 years, and you grew up in human society, you'd probably think a lot like humans. After all, our perceptions of race are largely socially constructed, rather than having a sound basis in biology.
