...you submitted your story; it is for others to comment, even if they didn't like your writing. To ask only for nice comments is myopic and ultimately pointless. Who praises everything p[raises nothing, as the saying has it.

And now - I quite enjoyed this beginning and look forward to chapter 2, which I hope won't be too long in coming.

The author did not ask for only nice comments, she (?) asked that comments be expressed in a clear, constructive manner, be they positive or negative.

She wants constructive criticism not just someone saying "this story is crap" or the like without saying why they think that.

for reading my story. I don't expect everyone to love it and find it amazing. I really do hope that people will give me some criticism on it because I want to improve my writing. I just don't want them to simply say "it sucked write better" I want them to actually write something that will help me.
