That's how this story reads. No true character development, no reason why Kayden has been targeted or why a division of the FBI would be interested in such a low-profile case. Another thing- if someone in LE thinks a person is being harmed, they don't need a warrant to investigate. Just the fact that Kayden was screaming for help gives Max all the justification he needs to break in and save him.

I feel like I'm missing something, you know that key piece of evidence that ties it all together...

Is there a back story between Max and Kayden?
