When the lovers calmed down, the demon held Nakushi to him so she could drift off to sleep. During the few hours that she rested in peaceful slumber he grew more and more restless. He could smell the changes in her. And it worried him. He would have to seek answers and this time he couldn't afford to risk taking her along.
He checked to make sure that she was comfortable and deep in slumber before he left the cave in search of answers that would change the course of his and his human's lives.
