Sorry......

Sorry I just today discovered oberon_57 and his list of stories on one of my favorite themes.

Good times ahead while I read all of the previous chapters of this series.

Yes, better and better

I am really liking this series. The wait between installments is worth it. Being MtF myself, I can identify with Billie and the early turmoil the two personas face. I love this. You have a lot of empathy and skill. Better yet, you know grammar and can use spell check ;)

The Writing Is Excellent...

...And its kept me perusing the chapters as they've come out. The first ones seemed pretty brutal, but these later ones have gone into issues that are certainly near and dear to my heart, and it has made Billie a much more three dimensional being. The whole "date night" setup was very original and unique. What happened to the priest was appropriate, but the corrupt old fart scenario is getting just a little old now, is every male in town over 50 a demented pervert? Handy for the storyline, just getting a bit tired for the plot. Thanks for sharing billie and looking forward to this chicago 'job' chapter.

I suggest Joscelyn that you may be missing the point. The essence of erotic fiction is the juxtaposition of 'opposites', serving to accentuate the sexual polarity of the protagonists. This Oberon, the author, understands all too well as she contrasts the 'beauty' with the 'beast' - hence the disparity in age as well as physique and the psyche (so Billie's 'rapists' are brutish and uncouth and, so far in this epic, the only plausibly 'presentable' male is the genial, but, so far, unresponsive 'MrD'). Oberon writes with a passionate erotic sensitivity that lifts her writing far above much of what is generally termed 'tg fiction' . This seems to be Oberon's first attempt at a sustained narrative and she shows an original mastery of plot, character development and a real flair for keeping the reader 'on tenterhooks' and yearning to read the next instalment ... the hallmark of all successful authors of fiction. In my opinion, we should be grateful that Oberon is posting her stories free, instead of charging as she could well do by using the Amazon kindle application .

Agree with you Both

I do agree with Jocelyn that "Billie" seems to have run into a disproportionate share of older, unattractive, hypocritical, and sexually "perverted" men recently.

However, Billie's experiences as a woman have begun with Mr. Wallace and it would seem that he associated with other men with similar views and outlooks as he had.

Only the priest seems to have been an unanticipated situation, yet Oberon writes convincingly of Billie's experience and how she handles it.

I have favorite-ed this story and will look forward to more in the future. Can't wait to see what happens in Chicago. And if Billie happens to meet a nice guy in the future, so what. I can't see how that would either advance the storyline or tell us anything meaningful about Billie's self discovery and awakening, unless that is, our princess has a fairytale ending in store for her...

Hope you'll excuse me...

...Anon but I disagree, the essence of erotic fiction is NOT the juxtaposition of 'opposites', serving to accentuate the sexual polarity of the protagonists (nice work if you can find it)... it is taking the reader into your own head to try and share the erotic experience you are feeling, or have experienced yourself. My criticism was on the constant use of a particular setting and experience for billie. Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with exploiting such 'juxtaposition' for the added experience of the reader, and I didn't even mind after the 3rd or 4th time it was used (if, in fact oberon is actually doing that, which neither one of us of really knows), but any literary idiom can get 'old'. And as long as I'm at it, it would also help a great deal to add a few more tags for the story than just 'struggle'. However, those criticisms are small potatoes next to the incredible writing talent that they obviously have to draw on. And I hope I made that very clear. Perhaps I did not, so allow me to say again, oberon is a unique and amazing writer of erotic fiction and has managed to bring me directly into their world and appeciate the delicate descriptions and erotic manifestations that only good writing can produce. I gave this 5 stars and have fav'd the story, and I also look forward to more from this writer, as they have been given a wonderful talent.
