All Comments on 'My Friend Jennie'

This story was well enough written but much of it was quite implausible. People who get into the state you described Jennie as being in do not recover and look beautiful after a warm bath and a night's sleep. When they're as bad as that, recovery can be a long and painful business, during which time they generally look and feel like hell on wheels. And I find it hard to believe that someone with our narrator's experience in a pharmacy would try to help a drugged-up, drunken Jennie by feeding her more wine each time. Sorry, this is just not a successful tale.
