Love your imagination and characters. The setting is unclear though. Clothing and dialogue are inconsistent with any one era. With a few tweaks it could be made to fit in medieval, renaissance, georgian, regency or even victorian periods easily. Research in your chosen period would help your writing a lot. Writer's Digest published a series of writer's guides to daily life in various time periods that are useful. Keep up the good work! Like others have said, I expect you to be published someday.

Loved it!!! haven`t stopped reading your stories since i started reading the innocent pawn and had to finish it....lost track of how many i read...gonna keep reading. In my humble opinion, you are a very talented writer.

This story had potential, but you lost it when you required the participants to be drunk before their sex. It fit with the father's bad reputation, but not with the girl's or Wilhelm's. What's the point? A baby from the girl doesn't provide the wicked king an heir, and he still has to give up the Wilhelm family palace to Wilhelm...plus, Wilhelm can't really hate the girl...goodness, she's a treasure. These pieces just don't work for me.

I liked the story and felt the drinking was a fictional necessity given the reluctance of both parties. I am very interested in where you will go next!
