No, it was not her boyfriend. Her best friend set her up for a night Monica knew they both would enjoy. Monica knew the main character well enough beforehand, and there was enough trust between them, for the situation to work. If my best friend, (or my girlfriend) did this, yes I would react the same way and that is what the story is, my fantasy on paper. Nothing more, nothing less.

That is one hell of a risk to take with your friendship. So many ways for this to have gone seriously wrong. I can see forgiveness and acceptance but not so quickly and easily.
