Really needs a re-write

Parts of your story were fine. But, if you are going to write historical fiction, it is easy to get it right. I googled "History Vietnam protests" to verify this. The first protest didn't even occur until December of 1964 with only 25,000 protesting. The riots, peoples' park, Kent State and the events you allude to were in 67-69. Second, there is no way in heaven she would have gone skinny dipping after her hair had been so painstakingly curled and done up. Nor would she have been so careless with her dress. Her parents would notice immediately when she got home and he'd be dead. Back then (and many even now) parents waited up for their daughters to come home. Finally, I did not understand your last paragraph. Did he kill her with a "weapon" then hold on to her body, or was she the weapon? Anyway, thanks for writing. - Ttom from a small town in the South.
