So intense and so well constructed. I've read for a while stories on this site, but this is the first time that one actually made me want to say something, give a feedback (I'm a rather a taciturn reader).

To simply put it, your story (actually hope the beginning of it) is exquisitely good, just like a piece of dark chocolate on a rainy day.

I'd have liked to know more about how it was before the one guy left. Did they ever talk about the attraction? What happens now? It feels unfinished.
