Vicky's feelings about posing alone for the director surprised her. Modeling for just one artist made her feel much more exposed and vulnerable than modeling for an entire class. She felt very intimate at the thought that the artist was staring at her for hours, that all of his attention was focused on her body. He was studying her, memorizing every detail of her so he could transmit her to canvas.

Her feelings towards him became more intimate as the projects progressed. The intimacy evolved into infatuation, which then evolved into romantic desire.
