beautiful correlation between the lover and the old Sailors lament of the Siren of the sea..
Unable to be what the love of her life wishes her to be ~ she waits on the shores of Nevermore.
Pain infliction is so easy
It's what most folks do best ~
All you need do is be stupid
Keep the brain as mush
And let all feelings be crushed...
As one who's been serenaded by a siren, only to be dashed upon the rocks, this poem really struck a chord. My siren is a guy, but I'd like to think that he might be feeling the anguish and regret laced throughout your beautiful piece. Thank you for a wonderful read. LJ
