Green and yellow
I should have said red
But I stayed silent
Except for the tears
The result
These bruises
Healing now
Green and yellow
The colors of spring
But it’s autumn
Things die in autumn
Am I dying?
Will I wake
When the marks fade?
Will I seek a tormentor
To leave new ones?
Pink, red, purple
Blue, green, yellow
The colors of hurt
A fading rainbow
A prism of pain
Beautiful bruises
Green was always
My favorite color

It's vibrant picture you draw here. Somewhere between the skin-deep eternity of a tattoo and the short-lived carving of a fingernail soon washed away by the tides of time.

Ohhhh. I could’ve written this today. I felt every word is deeply as I feel my own yellow green bruises 💜
