leaving what may be considered shallow critique, I enjoyed this very much. It has a timelessness and longing to it that seems to transcend the now.
Now here is a "journal entry" type submission that can stand on its own as good poetry!

thank you for sharing this with us, we are fortunate--
the ending was so personal, I felt like the whole poem was getting a feel for the characters, so that the last lines could hurt like only people you care for can hurt.
