A delightful homage to a very lucky lady and a time passed.
I'm old enough to remember altar boy autonomic Latin refrains, having narrowly avoided that fate myself, but I wonder does the reference date us?
altar-boy , nun , neighbour , paperboy ;Tennyson , Keats ; tongues -----a wonderful
smorgasbord of colliding concepts !!! high 5-ed , of course !!!
...spending the day with you...
through your poem.
Beautifully written and loved the visuals you created.
I recall you saying that in your opinion "gals wrote better erotic poetry than guys" or something along those lines. This one is evidence that you certainly hold your own in that department, gm. :)
This stanza is in beautiful contrast to the ones before it, very effective:
"But at night when I put myself in you,
I babble babble like Tennyson's brook
while you, Dearest, are Keats' belle dame
sans merci making sweet moan,"
The last couplet cinches the whole!
