My heart use to beat just to live
Till the day I got to know you
I first fell in love with your smile
The way you could brighten up my day with a single smile
A smile that let me know everything would be ok
How you kept the dark at bay

I fell in love with your eyes next
The way you would look at me
As if I was the only girl in the world
The only one who mattered
The way you could see the real me
The one I hid for so long

Next I fell in love with your lips
From the sweet words that escaped from between them
To the sweet passionate kisses you gave me
The way they felt against my own lips
To the way they felt against every inch of my body, every curve

I fell in love with your arms next
Every time the darkness got to dark
How you would wrap me into your arms to keep me safe
As if you fought off every demon who tried to destroy me
The one place I feel safe in this cold world

I fell in love with your body next
The soft smooth skin that felt so good up against mine
The way my hand would move along and trace little lines on it
Enjoying the chocolaty surface, running my hands and lips all over it
How strong and toned your body is and feels

I fell in love with your heart after
The way I could feel it beat under my cheek
A perfect song playing for me as I rest on your chest
How kind and caring you were to the world, not just me
Such a loving father, son, partner, lover and friend

I fell in love with your soul last
Not because I couldn’t fall for it first but
To guard and protect my own
I kept the ice around my heart cold for as long as I could
Each touch, each embrace, each kiss, each soft spoken word, and every laugh
Slowly melting the cold hard ice around my broken heart
How each look could see into my own soul

You slowly mended each piece of my heart back together
Not the same as it once was
Better, stronger, warmer
The heart that use to only beat for each breath to keep living in my cold dark world
It beats to feel, It beats to love, It beats for a life full of love, full of you
It beats to share every moment with you
I live for each beat now as I live for each breath, moment and memory of you
I truly fell in love with all of you

Love is not just a catalyst for redemption, it is the catalyst for life. The transcendence of a being in love ethereal.
