She lays in bed with an empty pillow beside her.

She reaches out nothing subsides but her.

She pulls up the blanket, and no resistance greets her.

She listens for his soft snoring, but only silence meets her.

She tries to sleep without an arm around her.

She tries to rest, but the memories surround her.

She stares out into the void, darkness winks back at her.

She prays for morning as the clock slowly tick ticks at her.
