Beautiful. This poem transports me to the place I go to become part of the night.
Reading that in fading orange-red in the late afternoon washed away the troubles of the day. Thank you
I love the tension in the first two stanzas. The familiar darkness of night brings comfort and quiet, whereas the bright light of day brings pain and fear and magnifies decay.
I also appreciate the depiction of the moon in the last stanza as something that appears always to be changing when in fact it is always a steadfast constant. Great observation. It's also fitting that the final stanza alludes to moonlight since the first stanza mentions sunlight.
Lovely work.
While my day is spent looking forward to comfort, quiet and peace of the night, what my being absolutely craves is the promise of night... The last stanza is very powerful.
Thank you so much for this gem, Ma'am.
