Incessant crickets echoing
Keyboard clicking and clacking
My aloneness is startling
as evening stretches out
permeating me with a distant perfume
The night blooming moonflower
its beauty scarcely done
folding up and praying to meet the dawn
I hear the beating of my heart
The tapping of my thumb
The halting breath
And amidst the choir of crickets
I contemplate the inky void
Is my love walking in the distant shadows?
My future all cocooned, waiting to transform?
And my death, that forbidden thought
Is it closer, ever closer in gentle darkness?
I wait with breath suspended
for the answers in the wind
All thoughts on hold
The wheel of life slowly winding down
Yet there is only the distant buzz of a cicada
the golden silence of infinity
under the pale light of stars
Is the quiet night time where thoughts meander through our brain ~ thoughts of future love - our future death meant to prepare us for that final journey into that good night?
Great southern style poetry here.
Are you sure you are not from the South?
Love the imagery here. The quiet effortless
way you slide us into your world or dreams, and a few demons.
Ours is always to question life. Always questioning ... When? Live each day
as if it were you last has become my motto.
Love this poem ~!!
This is very good sack. I felt the spiraling of all the fluid emotional moments. Silent screams trapped in the mind... ty for the write
du lac~
has me wanting to hug you and tell you it will be alright! There is alot of emotion in your words which makes the reader feel as if he/she is right there with you...

This piece makes me miss the south in the summer, nix the fire ants though. Nicely done. ;)
