Hugging closer and closer
Each day reticent forest
Floating across
Pedestians wave
Arms hands fists
Facing the river
No car honks
No truck blinks
Thick and heartless it blows on
Stopping,
I am raising two arms,
One frog
One local dog
Another sympathetic bird
All frozen bronze
Readying to jump and multiply
To the right word, divine ordinance
By forgetful divinity or
Some local action committee
I make it to the top safely
Now coming down should be easy
Thank god for small miracles
You should know to always capitalize the first letter in every sentence which you didn't. It should have been "You" not "you". Also, your second sentence is not complete so you should have put a comma at the end of the first sentence. Sounds like you need to go back to skool!!!!!
you inadvertently left out the "r" in pedestrians.

The more I read of you, the better you get. I enjoyed this poem, from the structure to your choice of words.
keep up the good work :)

i read "divine ordnance" instead of ordinance. interesting accident, on my part, but a lovely poem, on yours. thanks.
Ahhhh — a metaphorical river. Now it makes sense. I knew Silver Spring was too far from the Potomac for it to be that river, so I thought it might be a smaller feeder stream. All is clear now.
There is a long bridge in Siver Spring which is arched over the region's beltway. You climb over it on your way to the Metro. Along the bridge, on both sides a wonderful local artist installed small Bronze statues of 'every day' animals. All the above is real. My dream has to do with wishing to somehow eliminate the flow of that 'river' below me which threatens to suffocate the whole neighborhood. thanks for commenting.
Very interesting dream. At first I was confused by the frog and dog. "I am raising two arms/One frog/One local dog/Another sympathetic bird/All frozen bronze" It was like you were saying that you were raising two arms and that one arm was a frog and the other one a dog. lol I see now that they are bronze statues.
This poem was mentioned in Wednesday's New Poems Reviews between Wicked Eve & myself — it has some odd imagery that might catch your eye.
