Click hereI see a droplet descend
Out the corner of her eye
From the corner of mine
Leaving a trail
That catches the screen light
Not to be noticed
I watch the scene
A snuffle sounds
It's not the surround
I sneak a peek of her expression
The film is dramatic
Thou not emotional
I catch a smile
Reaching out
I caress to comfort
Meandering home
Over footfalless cobbles
We step in time
A short laugh is uttered
Yet the tear still travels
She cannot explain
Her apparent self
Nor do I know what
Her inner demons are saying
Or why they torment today
My soul knows
Her soul is sad
I can only try
To lift her spirit a little
By being her friend
Empathy seeps from every line. A beautiful poem about fragile feelings almost within reach.
