good work here

The contrast between hero and dark is always prevalent. Love the definitive opening statement about balance before the whole un-balances, the way you have twisted the final line to read cumbersome slows the read down and gives that moment to reflect on what has been said. There are multiple paths in which your final line can go, is dark a straying from the "hero path" a loss of ideal, a line cross I.e one step too far by breaking a law, or an un-warranted killing, is the dark death. It all ties into how close a line a hero can walk to what he is trying to fight, or rally against.

Non-heroes have all the advantages which I feel is part of the reason a hero is so lorded, in any event 5ed.
