On the upside this chapter features more of T'vor's machinations, Dr. Crusher falling apart, Troi being used by everyone & then concludes with Wesley forcing his dick into his mother's mouth - all good stuff.

But it also includes a fairly lengthy and quite odd lecture on gay rights too. In this version of the Federation, it seems humanity considers homosexuality to be a curable disease & perversion(!), which is definitely not how the (enlightened and progressive) Federation has been portrayed in canon and fan fiction for decades. (Yes, it's true that STNG didn't have any LGBT main characters, but keep in mind that it debuted in 1987 & also that only about four percent of the current population identifies as being LGB.) So the author using this very weird take on the Federation to set up the Betazoids as actually being the progressive ones, struck me as just being a really clunky way to shoehorn some political commentary into an otherwise fine story. On balance three stars.
