This was really great! I could tell a lot of thought was put into every word of every sentence. Not only could I picture everything as clearly as if I were watching a movie, I could almost feel the young soldier embracing me. I did think the word "ass" sounded a bit harsh amidst everything else, but that's minor. I hope to read more of your work in the future!
