Ok, so far I've enjoyed the story, even though the part were all of the crew dies in one day would seem an obvious ploy and attract the North Korean's attention unnecessarily, it's been fun to read. However, going to Mars to steal a nuclear device is absurd. If they want an EMP bomb, transforming one of their nuclear weapons would take 1/1000 of the effort of stealing it from another planet. Lot has been written on how to make an EMP bomb, and indeed, this is one of the U.S.'s worries about Kim. He does not not need to hit the U.S. to disable a major portion of the country. This is also why the Korean military was told that if they launch any kind of attack, none of them or their families would survive. It would be a collective suicide. So, sadly, this is where I stop reading. The story has gotten too preposterous.
I am rationing my reading of your stories because they are so good and I want them to last. The two of you are amazing writers.
I confess I was loving It to this point, but going to mars requires a whole lot more effort, expense etc than obtaining a nuke here on Earth, so it’s all gone a bit silly, so sorry but I’m out. 😕
There is insufficient economy in North Korea for them to be the enemy. Rest of story is moving along fine. Maybe the story heroes are late comers to Mars and NK is stealing from China??
Several people have made logical arguments about the where the story has landed at this point and have mentioned they were giving up as a result. If you're having similar thoughts, it's because that's what this chapter was intended to leave you thinking. Don't give up. If you're not back in the game after reading the first page of the next chapter, then, by all means, carry on with your day, and sorry to disappoint. 😉
