Funnily enough, mc is in a Freudian competition with his father which has actually been fed by his mother for years. She's encouraged his dependence on her instead of supporting his independence. And mc seems to have a general dislike for men, and that includes his father. If these were real people, sex between them would have been a matter of when, as it was inevitable. Very interesting.
