Again, good story.

I have a question though. So far there’s some obvious differences between the Viper and human, like they are basically evolved reptiles, the males are smaller and apparently have 2 cocks. Language is another difference and in the last chapter you mentioned a computer translator for that. But with active communication between them, is there something actually translating in real time or has something been done for John to somehow know and understand them? I can’t believe that the whole crew learned English for John. Also while they are humanoid, there’s probably some serious anatomical differences that may make it impossible for vipers to create some sounds and likewise for John to speak their language.

Which brings up another question. What characteristics do vipers share with humans and what are completely different. For example, did you know that birds see in infra red? Look at a pigeon under UV light and there’s patterns and colors human eyes don’t normally see. Some snakes have a pit organ that lets them “see” heat if not quite into infra red. So, what unique differences do vipers have from humans and vice versa? What is harmful to them but not humans? Black light?

I’m just hoping to offer ideas to look into

Vipers have a cranial implant that enables them to understand another race, if they have a language database/lexicon on said race. The Matriarchy do, thanks to a scout ship visiting Earth during World War 2. When the Pilot of the unknown ship was found to be Terran, the whole fleet were ordered to install the Terran lexicon. The cranial device also enables the person they are talking to to understand them. A Viper is still technically speaking their language, however, the person they are talking to thinks it’s theirs.

It has been fun reading this. I only ever read about a human having sex with a true alien once before. About 35 years ago, when I was 18-22 or so, I found an erotic science fiction paperback. The alien guy had fur and a prehensile tail, along with a penis. Ya, your first thought is correct.

Anyway, I was a virgin, was circumsized, and hasn't ever seen other guys dicks, except my immediate family. Due to attending a tiny, strict Christian school until 10th grade, I never had sex ed. I actual did not know human males had a foreskin that covered the tips of their penis. I was aware of circumcision, but I thought it was some sort of skin ridge, not a hood. When I read about the alien's dick coming out of it's foreskin, I took it as a weird alien thing! I had never had a male pet, or any pet, ever. It was another few years before I found out more. Computers coyld run Atari looking games and text adventures. There was no internet, and all I had was the scrabbled channels on UHF, where you could only kind of see anything. I had found a couple old Playboys in some guys trash, but that didn't help, of course. I had torn pages out and stuffed them in my pockets. Some guy came out looking pissed and asked he is I had found his magazine, as I was standing by his trash can, on the curb. I shook my head no, and took off running. Anyway, growing up in the 70s-80s was a trip, and I was one naive dweeb.
