Due to the number of abbreviations, ship listings, and list of characters, in this story, I include a glossary that is now in a stand-alone chapter called 'All That Glitters: Notes v 14'. Any and all information that you want or need to know about the series is included in Notes. It will be updated frequently simply by re-issuing the chapter to Literotica as a new version.

There is little attempt to explain the back story, so it is necessary to read previous chapters to fully understand where we are.

As before, I claim sole responsibility for the story line. This story is a fantasy, with no basis in reality. Any similarity that you may perceive to current events, people, or situations real or imaginary is completely unintended. Look no further than the story line for its intent and purpose.

A big shout out to my editors, who wish to remain anonymous, for all the help they provide. If you find any errors still left in this chapter, they are mine, as I have ignored sage advise to make a silly point.

Please rate and comment. But keep your comments respectful. If you rant and rave or are disrespectful in your commentary, it will be deleted.

Offices of the Council of Warriors, Pod-Saar, The Sharanas System, 109 Light Years from Terra

The Kumaraie was furious and let it show on her face, something she rarely did. She was a consummate politician and diplomat and had achieved a 'poker face' as the humans called it, long ago.

However, today she let that face fall and her anger was manifest. Not that it deterred those she was angry with...

"We cannot allow this to happen, My Kumaraie!" Callet-Mun Kai-Rai, the leader of the Council of Warriors nearly shouted at the Kumaraie. "There is no precedent for this!"

"Of course not, you fool. Such as this has never occurred before," the Kumaraie barked back angrily. "Let me ask you this, Callet, had these two been of the Pod-Drran would that have made a difference in your decision?"

Callet was initially taken aback by the question but she had to admit that it would have been very different had they been of the Pod-Drran.

"No Pod-Drran brood would ever have been in a position to do this, Callet," the Kumaraie continued. "But this is going to change as more females begin to reject the Rakkan. It will inevitably bring broods into peril, peril they will be forced to act against, just as these two have.

"However, how likely is it that they would survive as my Goddaughters have?" the Kumaraie demanded.

Callet was bitter over this whole affair. These two brood mates had made a mockery of Pod-Drran Warriors, not only by besting two trained human killers in single combat, but also by besting the formidable Rai, Hatta-Torre, who was later executed for having drawn her Kaldar not only in the presence of the Kumar-Pair but also in the presence of most of the rulers of the Greater Community. The Kumaroe had forced the Torres clan's Phrat-Mahi and Sire to present Hatta's Ga-Den and her Kaldar to the brood-pair, an unheard of event.

What galled Callet most was that her hand was being turned not by the Warrior Class, but by the common Classes of the people! The people were angry that the Council of Warriors had shunned the Chohdae (Little one, a term of endearment usually used within a family. Chohda is singular, Chohdae plural regardless of sex). They had become the darlings of the Pod-Drran having been claimed as part of the Kumaraie's family when she become 'Godmother' to the pair. That meant the House of Piscium, the House of the Atohan herself, was Dusar to the House of Se-Lam and these Chohdae had not only lived up to the expectations of that House, they had exceeded it by a great margin.

Callet ground her teeth. She knew she was in the wrong here but had no way to change her response without it seeming that she had capitulated to the mob. The very mob that was attempting to have her, and some of the other senior elders of the Council, removed from office because of this issue! Her removal would allow the other members of the Council to act as if they had opposed Callet, when in fact it was their decision that Callet was putting forth. Now, those same Council members pretended that they had nothing to do with the decision as Callet was the face of the Council.

"You are doing this to enhance your own House, My Kumaraie," Callet stated.

The Kumaraie took a few moments to reflect and allow herself to shed some of her stress over the situation. She looked at Callet and recognized that the leader of the Council of Warriors was herself under more than a little stress.

"You know that is not true, Callet-Mun. I would do this for any worthy member of the Warrior Class," the Kumaraie stated.

"What do we need to do to come to an equitable consensus Callet?" she asked. Putting the burden squarely on Callet's shoulders.

"It cannot appear that you are pushing this, My Kumaraie. This request must come from another source, other than the House of Se-Lam," Callet suggested.

"Who would you consider to be an equitable source?" Kad-Hal Kumir-Sai-Rai, the head of the Kumir-Rai asked.

"Someone from the floor of the Grand Hall that is considered to be neutral," Callet suggested.

The suggestion brought a smile to the Kad-Hal's face. "I know just the person.."

The Offices of the Council of Empaths, Scherm's City, Hollander's World, The Sullivan System, Sixty Light Years from Terra

Petronellaya was reeling from the shock that Junelliya was going to have twins. It had been bad enough for her and her office trying to clean up the problems that Junelliya, Ikekiya, and Zarreniya had inadvertently, though innocently, created.

Petronellaya was sitting on the chair when she felt Zarreniya climb up beside her on her left side. Ikekiya was now standing on the chair on her right side. Both girls were stroking her cheek and reassuring her that they would help with the new babies.

Both girls were using their empathic skills to push calm and peace to the councillor, shocking Kriss to the core.

Shit! she thought. The notes had said that they could use their powers but this selectively?!

"Girls!" Junelliya warned.

"Is OK, mamma," Zarreniya told her. "We need help make her calm."

"Uh huh," Ikekiya agreed. "We make Aunty 'Nellaya worry, she need calm."

The two children each kissed one of her cheeks and then purred in her ears, just like the Cats did. Ellaya laughed as she slipped forward and kissed her friend.

"It's a future problem," she giggled. "Why don't we leave it for then? This is, for the family, a joyous occasion."

An honest smile finally formed on Petronellaya's face. She pulled the children in close and hugged them getting giggles from them.

"See, mamma, we did good," Zarreniya told her mother.

"They did indeed," Petronellaya replied. "I was not aware that you could use your powers so selectively."

"Uh, huh. We get better since we be Palda," Ikekiya exclaimed.

"We have gotten much better since we have become Palda," Kriss reworded Ikekiya's speech.

Ikekiya looked at Kriss and sighed. "It going to be hard for us Zarreniya," she said with a little pouty face that caused all the adults to laugh.

There was a knock on the door and Petronellaya's assistant stuck her head in. "I'm sorry, Petronellaya. However, the Director Altynal and the actor Baeeta are here."

"Oh, yes. They are not due for another hour. Why don't you send them in, I'm sure they will want to meet the Pisciums. Sorry, Junelliya, but Altynal is somewhat pushy."

"Not at all, I remember when he called us and we redirected him to Doctor Maya who directed him to you," Junelliya answered.

"Oh, so it was you who sent him our way, eh?" Petronellaya said with a mock air of hostility, getting giggles from the girls.

*I need to speak with her about the changes she made to my script!* an angry male Byandi voice was heard to say in Byandi outside the open door.

Altynal came bursting through the door with an indignant look on his face. *You ordered changes to my script!* he practically roared.

"You are deviating from the agreed script, Altynal," Petronellaya replied, equally as strong. "You are not making a super hero adventure show; you are making a Private Investigator series!"

*But she has all these powers! It just makes sense to push them to the fore!!* Altynal answered.

"What powers?" Junelliya asked making her presence known to the two newcomers.

"Director Altynal, Baeeta, may I introduce to you the Lady Hanalei Anar, also known as Gurn Piscium, and Lady Palda Junelliya Atohan Herlan, Doctor of Music and probably the most powerful empath in the known universe," Ellaya told the pair by way of introductions. "As well as their mate, Dragon Fayad Piscium Sai-Ro."

"You forget us," Ikekiya said. She and Zarreniya did a Byandi 'flourish' bow (used only for royalty or VVIPs and introduced themselves in almost perfect Byandi, stunning the two Byandi.

*Well hello you two,* a surprised Baeeta said, kneeling in front of the children. *Are you perhaps the two known as the 'golden children'?*

"Uh hum. We be famous because of music," Zarreniya answered.

"We are famous because of our music," Kriss interjected, making Zarreniya repeat the phrase properly.

"You right," Zarreniya stage whispered to Ikekiya, "this going to be problem." Once again that brought giggles to the adults.

*My, my. You two are loved. All these people seem to be so proud of you,* Baeeta told the girls.

*Uh huh. This be our mommy, our mamma, our daddy, mommy's helper, mommy's guard, and our nanny,* Zarreniya supplied helpfully.

Baeeta noted the word 'guard' was used in the Byandi context which informed her that the guard was mommy's personal guard. She gave a curious look at Junelliya and Fayad.

"Our mate is a Dragon and Sai-Ro. He does not need the services of a guard. I also do not need the services of a guard," Junelliya snapped her fingers and Altynal suddenly froze as he had begun to try to interpose himself on the issue as he was miffed at being ignored. He gave out a rather indignant squawk as he found himself completely unable to move.

*Wow! That was incredible. Do all empaths have this ability?* Baeeta asked.

"No, only the stronger empaths can do that," Ellaya advised the Byandi star. "We have worked with your writers to create a series that we think will be interesting, informative, and just plain entertaining for the Byandi networks. IF Altynal can stop trying to change the script all the time!

"You do not need to create super powers for your character, Altynal. Empaths are already formidable enough," Petronellaya informed him. Junelliya once again snapped her fingers and a suddenly nervous Altynal was free to move.

"This series is foremost a Private Detective Series, which means the protagonist uses her intellect more than anything else. Her empathic powers help lead her to the truth but she still needs to use her brain to accomplish things," Ellaya finished.

Baeeta gave Altynal a hard look. *Altynal, allow me to see the script that they wrote,* she ordered. A sheepish Altynal pulled a script from his carryall and gave it to Baeeta, who quickly skimmed through it.

The more pages she read, the more excited her expression became. *YOU IDIOT!!* she roared at Altynal, momentarily startling the others in the room. *This is by far the superior script! How could you play this up as a super hero show!*

*Sorry, Sorry!!* Altynal cried out, wilting before the onslaught of Baeeta.

*I was seriously considering not doing this when I read your script this morning but, after reading this script, I have changed my mind. This is absolutely brilliant!

*If the Mylatrin Adriné herself had not given you this task, I would ask for your removal from this series!* Baeeta screamed at the hapless director. *You had better live up to your reputation as a Director, Altynal, or I will emasculate you!

*Now get out! You have work to do to make this (and here she practically shoved the original script in her hand into his face) the script of choice for this series,* she bellowed at Altynal, who abruptly ran from the room.

*I am so, so sorry for this, Councillor Petronellaya, Councillor Ellaya. He really is a brilliant director; however, the other part of his reputation is his need to make unwanted and unwarranted changes to scripts. That is why I asked to come see you when he began to complain about the changes to 'his' script,* Baeeta said by way of apology to the two Councillors.

"Think nothing of it," Petronellaya replied after hearing the translation. "We have been made aware of his quirks."

Baeeta smiled her thanks before turning back to Junelliya. *You are Lady Doctor Junelliya Harlen,* she stated as a fact. *It is ever so much a pleasure to meet you, and your two Mallitana (female child or children, Mallitono would be the male version of the word, which is both singular and plural).

*I am also interested in music and have recently had the opportunity to view some of your lectures on the differences in music between the species. I have also seen your vids from Paris, Denders, and your collaborations with the various elite of the music industries of the Greater Community and I have purchased your recent albums! I especially appreciated your work with Mainiss Arttra.

*One good thing about being a famous actor, you get to mingle with other famous people,* Baeeta preened.

"I thank you for your kind words, Baeeta. I would be willing to exchange autographs with you, an elite actor of the Byandi," Junelliya replied reaching back to Sylvia who handed her autograph book to her.

Baeeta gave out a kind of squeak and quickly pulled her own autograph book from her personal carryall. The pair exchanged books and each checked to see who had autographed the other's volume. Both were impressed with who was in the other's book, though for different reasons.

The children too, handed Baeeta their own books and signed Baeeta's. Baeeta was equally impressed at the names in the children's books and quite surprised that children so young could even write, never mind in the Byandi script!

*Wow! Such an impressive list of names!* she told the children, who smiled up at her and then gave her a hug for her signature. *Would you like to come see the set?*

"I thought this was being done on Mylatinyl (the Byandi home world)?" Junelliya asked.

*It will be; however, this is such a touchy subject on our home world that we decided to make the first few episodes here,* Baeeta advised them. *People on Mylatinyl fear and despise the Gratna (what the Byandi call empaths). I have only discovered that supressing one's abilities leads to problems with control and can lead to mental breakdowns, thus supressing the empathic ability of the Gratna usually leads to dangerous situations for both the Gratna and the community they live in. Thus, the actions of the very community that despises the Gratna are brought back against them. I believe the human word is 'Karma'.

*We hope this series will help to educate our people and change that,* Baeeta indicated. *I wanted to do this show from the moment that I heard of it. A cousin of mine was a Gratna and was killed by her frightened neighbours the moment they learned of her abilities,* Baeeta explained. *She never hurt anyone but they killed her all the same.*

"I'm sorry for your loss, Baeeta. I do hope that this series will help your people to come together and allow the Gratna to become respected members of the community," Junelliya said with feeling.

The Cats, feeling the sadness in the air, came down to sit on the shoulders of the children and rub their faces against that of Baeeta, much to her surprise. They all walked to the set together with the Cats riding the shoulders of three shortest people in the group, the two children, and Baeeta...

Working Set for 'Catrana Private Investigator', Scherm's City, Hollander's World, The Sullivan System

The Piscium family sat quietly on the set as silence was called for the next shot. They had all been surprised to learn that the entertainment program was not shot in sequence as all views from a certain set were shot according to who was available that day or even by the hour. The set was then taken down and the next set put up for other shots.

Currently, the sequences being shot were in the offices of 'Catrana, Private Investigator', the name of the main character of the series. They watched enthralled as the actors put together their best efforts to make a believable story as the cameras recorded their work.

*We are currently shooting those parts of the storyline that are common to both scripts. We have to work to remove those of Director Altynal from the original storyline. He truly is a very good director, but he is a terrible script writer,* Baeeta laughed. *As long as we keep him away from revisions to the story, we should be OK.*

*You are amazing, Baeeta!* Zarreniya gushed up at the actor in Byandi. *You are a completely different person for the cameras!*

That got a smile and a hug from the actor, which the children enjoyed.

Baeeta had to do a voice over for scene one of the first episode but it was just a pot of water boiling on a hot plate.

"OH!, mommy, we should give them a colour kettle!" Zarreniya suggested.

"Yes, I see it. It would give something visual to the watches instead of watching a pot of water boil," Hanalei laughed. She called the Trine and within half an hour, Baeeta was repeating the voice over, but now she was doing so with a colour shift kettle as the focus. Baeeta thought it was just genius.

*Of course,* Ikekiya told the staff in Byandi. *We thought of it...*

It would only take a couple of weeks before the full extent of the impact that simple tea kettle would become known...

"Why are they so much better in other languages than in Standard?" Kriss asked of the parents, noting the facility the children had in other languages.

"That's our fault," Fayad replied. "Our friends from the Greater Community never talked baby talk to them in their own languages, while we did in Standard, Anuuran, and High Andanii. Now we have to correct them of that, unfortunately."

Kriss smiled. "That is not so uncommon but your children are incredibly intelligent. It's going to be difficult to change their current syntax and speech patterns."

"Not so difficult, Kriss," Hanalei said. "The children are not just little geniuses; they are genius at an adult level. They remember everything they are told and they have the unique ability to correlate between ideas. If you tell them something that you think might be unrelated to something else, they might surprise you by putting your ideas into contexts that you might not expect.

"They are geniuses across the board but they have an affinity for music, math, spatial abilities, and languages. They currently speak all of the Greater Community languages other than Djinaëte, which only the Djinaëte seem to be capable of speaking. They also speak our own language of Anuuran, our Church's language of High Andanii, French, and Standard.
