The cuckold kink legitimized as appropriate revenge doesn't make it any less unpleasant to witness for those of us not blessed with the desire for sloppy seconds. Making the cuckold a man-whore with no redeeming qualities doesn't lessen the distaste for the cheating wife's antics, it just makes everything twice as annoying. The whole story may have been simply an exercise in confronting the BTB chorus with their own hypocrisy. If that was the goal, it will likely be met. I just don't think it makes for a good story or a good motivation for writing one.

I have read a few by this author and it becomes quite clear that the author does not like men. Every one of this author's stories belittles men and makes them seem insecure and weak. On the other side of the equation are the women who throw trysts in their face and make them grovel. I could go into more detail but it would be fruitless. My solution is to avoid stories by this author who seems to ned to work off frustrations about relationships between men and women.

I have seen other authors try to approach similar themes but in most cases the husband or the wife end up being the bad guy and you find your self hating both of them wondering why they are even marred.

this story however is able to stick to that balanced middle ground leading to and interesting outcome.

No doubt Cagivagurl is an exceptional writer and because of that I read the story despite the warning and story tags. It was an interesting take on the cheating wife/cuckold theme but despite the husband's earlier philandering I thought the humiliation and lack of discretion she heaped on him was excessive. She repressed her anger and it came back to bite him more than he was comfortable with. In the end however, they seemed to come to terms with it and it worked for them. I, however, had a harder time getting in their headspace and didn't enjoy this one as much as some of the author's other stories.

Cucks have a specific psychological profile (feelings of sexual inadequacy, desire for emasculation and humiliation, etc.), and I don't see Conrad as you presented him ( a successful womanizer) fitting that profile. A swinger, sure, but not a cuck.

First, I admire you for branching out into a different type of LW story than you normally write, especially knowing the readers in this genre would crucify you. I was forewarned this was a cuckold story, so I have to weave my criticism carefully so as to not sound like cuckoldry is the source of my criticism, because it is not. Despite the warning, I continued to read, so that's on me. As usual, your prose was well done and the narrative was solid. I "get" this is a revenge story and one camp could argue any punishment she dealt was not enough. Conrad was a serial cheater and Reggie was her first. However, the depth of her retribution and humiliation went well beyond his discreet dalliances. I understand you were using his guilt as the mechanism for him to accept her punishment, but it was too flimsy of a premise to get me to buy in. Someone in his position, and the arrogance he had to have multiple affairs, would caused him to revolt at her actions. It's also clear their marriage is fundamentally broken as well, so just can't see the story lines going the way you forced them. Hust my two cents! 4*

Well then, i'm not gonna rail on the husband for not burning the piece of filth he calls a wife -- yes, hypocrite, i know -- and not destroying his ex-friend, i will, however, say that the humiliation was far too disproportionate for things to wrap up the way they did. frankly, at the end, he should have just fucked the new wife.

GreyDuck's comment that "In the end however, they seemed to come to terms with it and it worked for them" helped clarify for me what I found lacking. I didn't read where they came to terms with it. The story petered out and that was never really shown. As long as the story was, I think there should have been more about what Margo and Conrad's year was like while Reggie went away.

And like GreyDuck, I thought the humiliation Margo heaped on him was excessive. GreyDuck's analysis that Margo repressed her anger and when it came out it was fierce (my words, not his) might be correct. But I wonder if that was Cagivagurl's thinking? Look at us psychoanalyzing fictional characters!

I did not see that Margo had any love for her husband.

The reason I'm writing such a lengthy comment is because I've liked some of Cagivagurl's recent stuff. And because her/his stories are better written than most of the crap being posted on this site, although they're usually super irritating.

I failed to state in my first comment that I hated this story and rated it accordingly.

Every author will throw out a bum story now and again, something that doesnt resonate with their audience. Some authors write stories that dont even resonate with themselfs, an exercise in writing in a genre perhaps.

Well written as usual, but also, much like the author's other stories, a little overlong and repetitive. The main problem with this one though is the thoroughly unlikeable characters, I felt sorry for Rochelle but she turned out to be just as bad as the others. In the end I didn't care what happened, well maybe that's a lie, I was actually praying that some nasty accident would befall all of them before they dragged Nina into their twisted way of life.

"Margo, I did a bad thing, when I cheated. But I never rubbed your nose in it. I never tried to humiliate you."

Summs it up right there. A woman scorned gets even... brutally.

All this is so typical of conventional thinkers. They try the monogamy myth then cheat left and right.

I had to laugh at this story. Actually, I’m a bit surprised that some people became so angry about it. The whole thing was about creating drama with the “happy ending” of the marriage continuing. I can only imagine that if one is offended, then they are projecting themselves in the MC. Remember, it’s just a story and not about you.

I'm not that big a fan of cuck stories but decided to give this one a try since I've enjoyed other stories by this author. I'm glad I did. Early on Margo's treatment of Conrad pissed me off, until it was revealed what a POS he was with his cheating. Seems to me he had it coming and then some. Thanks for sharing your stories with us.

I have enjoyed every story you have written so far, that is until this one. I'll keep this as constructive criticism as I appreciate your work and effort.

I have zero respect for the three main characters. That Conrad would have any kind of friendship with Reginald afterwards is repugnant. Reginald openly and knowingly betrayed Conrad even though he knew Conrad's feelings should have made any personal relationship impossible. Margo took her revenge too far as Conrad had never set out to humiliate her. While I don't condone Conrad's affairs he did not deserve to be humiliated by a co-worker. This results in a situation where he has to endure humiliation 100% of the time; at home and at work.

I guess the takeaway is that at least one character should be likable and relatable. None of them unfortunately had any redeeming qualities.

Okay, how can I put this? The author warned us but it's like the 20 car pile up on the turnpike. You just can't look away. I wasted about an hour reading it, hoping for a turn. Never happened. These two deserve each other. Neither one has the moral high ground. In they did, it is quicksand and swamp. The Bear should know better. your story was excellent, It just sucked.

Well written and interesting portrayal of a closet sadomasochist marriage.

Many of the commenters seem to miss the fact the husband DID get aroused being treated sadistically by his wife.

SM isn't my thing but it is for some.

I enjoyed it kind the story. I think it kind of dragged a bit in the middle, and the torture of Conrad might have been overdone, and Conrad might have shown just a tad more spine, even if he was hopelessly compromised, himself. Not a bad story. Wrong section imo. Well written but a little slow in the beginning. Probably would be better in fetish. So 5* for your writing and 3* for wrong section though there were a lot of loving wives aspects.

That was a very different type of story. There were elements of cuckoldry in it and also the female version of cuckoldry, cuckqueanary, the story was a very interesting portrayal of complicated and complex interpersonal relationships between four people.

I started out not liking the characters but as I read the entire story I found that I started to warm somewhat to the characters and their multiplicity of foibles.

The language and dialogue was crisp, witty and somewhat stylised. It reminded me of the works of Noel Coward in parts. A 5* story.

It’s a shame to see one of LW’s better writers wasting her talent writing about such unlikeable people. Just not to your usual standards.

This author has written good stories before. This one should be used to torture terrorists because it's that bad.

The dynamics in any relationship are fluid. Certainly, that's the case here as well. Cagivagurl is one of the better authors, and this work shows those strengths. I get this yarn isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's a good one nonetheless! 5 stars!

I was very surprised at just how nauseating page one was! I felt sure that I had read, and enjoyed, some other works from Cagivagurl in the past, and so must be missing something, so I flipped-up back to the top of the page, and started again, but still was unable to complete, even on the 3rd or 4th attempt!

So I was forced to abandon my efforts. I only kept trying as I thought there MUST be a twist-in-the-tale coming up?

Even so however, the constant and emphatic running around and around in the self-same ever-repeating circle pattern was doing my brain (such as it is) in, turning my few remaining little-grey-cells into an alcoholic mush!

Maybe one day, if I am ever feeling mightily masochistic, I might try again, but then Hell, life's already depressing enough, thank you, and too Godamn short as it is!

So perhaps I will just have to take Cagivagurl off of my favoured Authors List, and put her instead onto my BPA "Banned and Prohibited Authors List" instead!
