What a good story to start this chitty 3 years of covid. At least now I have something to fantasize about. I love this story so far. Being an old fart myself... Fun little story. But he seems to be doing the Grand Loop backwards. Heading down river after Memorial Day to New Orleans, it will be hotter than Hell when he gets there. Cant wait for more, maybe he'll fix his course, and head north into the Great Lakes for the summer, makes a lot more sense.

I too like the story. My question/comment: I've never boated on The Mississippi but I don't believe you can navigate a big river without the engine. Without forward speed it is impossible to steer.
