The few Women Marines I dealt with, mostly officers, by the way, did NOT take kindly to being called ‘Bams’. I think they considered it to be a pejorative. I dunno about that, I heard it stood for “Broad Ass Marine”. I don’t know why anyone would be offended by that. ;-)..

My tribute calls out specifically her ability to write a perfect set-up/conflict/resolution plot and leave us with realistic characters we could actually like. While some of the evil-doers are mildly cartoonish, the good guys ring true and leave us cheering.

After reading "One Slip" I was afraid you were going to be an Alfred Hitchcock want to be and for a while as I was reading "BAM" I thought that light at the end of the tunnel might turn out to be an express train. Thank god it was only the end of the tunnel. I gave it a 5 star rating. Funny, well written and a complete joy to read. To bad the author is not still active. Very very talented.

We have a few ex military women in the service. They are too notch people and I'm proud to serve with them. This was a great story and Paul learned a useful life lesson.

I had to laugh when she was explaining the term “BAM” to Paul. I hadn’t even thought about that term in over forty years. Yeah, we used the word back when I was in the Corps, late ‘60s and early ‘70s, but we were damned careful where we said it. If the wrong person heard one of us unwashed “Enlisted men” say “THAT WORD”, there would be hell to pay. And since shit rolls downhill it would have been us buried in it. Thanks, P51, very nice story.

The fact that I married a Lance Corporal might have something to do with it. (And she early on informed me that BAM means Beautiful American Marine, something I never ever got wrong. Again.)

This is one of my favorites. We seldom see a story where the supposedly betrayed wife is intelligent enough to see through a predators game. Well written and satisfying.

This is one of those I have read several times....and I enjoy it every time. I almost have it memorized but I still enjoy it. This is one powerfully loving couple. Thank you for not a good story but a Great story.

Ever since my buddies and I saw "Return of the Champion" or some such Hollywood title in 1955 or thereabouts with James Stewart - we thought this was the stupidest game ever. We saw this Hollywood film in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Still think that, though one of my brothers in law still plays this in some league at 60 years old, in Canada.

T he image of the wife, in my mind, had her as rotund plane Jane,with a mustache! When she put a beating on Paul towards the end of the story I wondered whether she'd been a professional wrestler or a roller derby queen prior to meeting George.

The description of George made me think of a wimpy,unattractive man with cuckold written all over his face. Had a problem believing that he was an ex-Marine.

All and all,a pretty average story about people who didn't interest me much.

Ya gotta love those BAMs...well ya better, anyway. Not all Marines are good Marines, but they are always Marines. Who else calls Paris Island a vacation spot?

I had forgotten reading this before.

One thing that always gets me in these "Revenge Fuck" stories is how the wife always fucks the guy who convinces her that her husband cheated. It NEVER seems to occur to her that he might have his own agenda, and might not be the most reliable source of information.

As an ex member of the British Army's Special Forces, I salute you ma'am for a fun story with a great twist. I'll be reading more.
