Where I was expecting stupid colours, leather or overly flamboyant costumes. This vampire looked rather... Mundane. Then as if he simply vanished, I caught movement coming for my chest. Moving to protect my organs, I was actually impressed he'd taken the first move. At least... Until he slammed into my knee... I couldn't help the small whine of pain that slipped out. But it would heal almost immediately, I was built of sterner stuff than this vampire. Sweeping my arm around, I slammed him into the wall... Hard... I wanted him to feel it. But to my surprise, not only was he relatively unharmed, he was still conscious. With a snarl, I stepped forward and kicked him in the head. Sending a lesson didn't mean I was keen on torture. He didn't need to feel what I was going to do to him.

But even as his head snapped to one side, he seemed dazed but still very aware. With a snarl, I leaped on him. Determined to choke him out, to show him why you don't mess with the Lycans to show... I sniffed... What... I sniffed again. How? Shifting back to my human form, I could care less about the fact I was now naked. The confusion written across his face gave me the opening I needed to make sure. And with a quick pull, I pressed my lips to his and tasted his saliva... After six hundred years...

I had found my mate...

... Chapter Three...

It took me a moment to gather my bearings. She'd kicked me quite hard after all. But now, with this kiss, I was completely at a loss. All that talk from younger vampires about how bad the Lycans smelled, was garbage. Lycans smelled different, sure. But in the sense that a tiger smelled different from a house cat. Only, Lycans had access to modern showers and soap. When the small woman finally pulled away, she was crying. I was officially beyond confused. A moment ago, I thought I was dead. Now, she was crying and... Ummm... Rubbing her hairless naked crotch on my own... I can't say I've ever been with a wolf. I'd only ever bitten the one as well. So with a groan, I sat myself up. The small woman still perched on my lap, stared into my eyes as tears drifted down her cheeks.

"Please," she said.

The moment her lips found mine, I stood and had her pinned to the wall beside the me-shaped crater. Her legs were over my shoulders and her hands were in the process of tearing open my pants. Which was a shame... I liked these pants... But the moment I was free, she had all the power. The tight grip over the head of my cock told me to do whatever she wanted. Which was just grand, because she was pulling me towards her dripping opening. Sliding in, I fit like a glove. The tiny woman cried out in pleasure as I speared her depths. So without further ado, I tried to leave a matching crater beside my own.

Now, I'd been with humans before, and I have to say, even the roughest, was still rather gentle by my standards. I was always careful not to injure, let alone kill my sexual partners. Even if they screamed the word "harder!" But this tiny alpha. Well... It wasn't likely I was capable of hurting her... Driving myself into her with inhuman speed and power, the small woman just kept kissing. Every now and then she'd release me and gasp but come right back for more. Her first orgasm hit, right as I felt the first brick give way.

*****

God's... This was amazing... I'd found my mate... Vampire or not, consequences be damned, I was the damn alpha and the others could fight me for the right to have him. I'd just come down from my first climax. He tasted so good and the feeling of his cock slamming into me was no less than divine. Every time he bottomed out inside me, I felt the head of his cock bounce of my cervix... Wait... Could he get me pregnant? A blending of the species... I couldn't fight to keep him if I was pregnant, I'd be a target for sure.

Pulling away, I stared deep into his eyes. How desperately I needed him to stop... How desperately I hated the idea... I have no idea how I came to this conclusion, but it seemed like a decent compromise. Reaching down between us, I managed to get my hand around his cock. Like the gentleman I thought he was when I first saw him, he stopped. It was slick with my juices and with a flick of my wrist, I took a deep breath and placed the head of his cock, at the entrance to my ass... I had done this before, and I knew I'd lubricated things enough that this would work. But I'd never really enjoyed anal. At least...That was until he pushed in...

The initial discomfort as his cock pushed past the ring of muscle at the entrance. The groan I let out as he continued sliding in. The gentle kiss he laid on my lips as his pelvis met mine. The gush of hot fluids I covered him with as I found my second climax. Before I'd even come down. He was plowing into me again. If not for his mouth on mine, I'd be screaming. This feeling was so close to pain, I was barely conscious enough to return the attention of his questing tongue. One orgasm rolled to the next. The next continued onward until it seemed I was just having one long orgasm, singular, with no breaks. Only, it seemed I had a second orgasm on top, as I felt his cock suddenly pulse in his own release and his seed filled me.

Letting my legs slide down his sides. I wrapped him up tight, not wanting him to go anywhere. I was terrified he'd leave. Terrified he'd go away. Now I found him... I couldn't live without him... That's when I remembered the bar. I'd interrupted his hunt. The very reason he was there, to begin with. I didn't want to let him go, but he was probably hungry.

"Do... Do you need to feed?" I asked softly.

He just continued to stare at me, before nodding slightly, "that was my original intention."

I smiled nervously, before reaching up and pulling my hair to the side, "bite me."

I had no idea what I was really asking. Humans rarely, if ever, remembered the vampire at all. Let alone the feeding. The few who did had mixed reports about pain. But the gentle prick of this vampires fangs... I'd never enjoyed pain, but I could certainly get used to this. The rush of endorphins pushed me immediately to the precipice of an orgasm. The rapid hardening of his cock, still buried in my ass, made me groan. Soon, I was cumming again as he gently thrust into me. And like that he was gone... I collapsed to the ground, clutching my legs together in anguish. Not from what he had done, but from the feeling of being so... Empty.

Then I heard the snarling. Cracking open my eyes, my mate was picking himself up off the ground. He seemed unhurt, despite the fact he'd been thrown over twenty metres. No young vampire would be in one piece after a blow like that... Speaking of, looking back, it was Dan and a few others. All in their wolf forms. There were probably dozens more on the roofs. Dan himself was edging towards me. He was so angry...

"Stop," I said weakly.

"Oh, Ella, I'm so sorry I didn't get here sooner," the big man crooned softly.

My heart stopped cold... They thought he'd raped me. I personally had set and carried out the death penalty for rapists. "Dan, you need to tell them to stop." I couldn't muster the strength to yell, I needed Dan's voice. But his confusion only lead to delay and I watched as the first wolf began to move. I managed to croak out a sharp "stop!" But it was too late.

The wolves were descending, on the one being, I couldn't live without.

...Chapter Four...

I had no idea how I found myself in this situation. I'd gone out to hunt, only to offend a local Lycan. I'd been dragged into a fight that I rightfully lost. And yet, here I was... Semi erect, still buried inside this gorgeous creature's ass. I still wasn't sure I heard her correctly when she said, "bite me." But pulling her hair aside and tilting her head, left little confusion. Leaning closer, a sniffed deeply. She still smelled of desire. She truly wanted this. So who was I to deny her?

With practised gentleness, I slowly pierced her neck with my fangs. Feeling the warm rush of blood pooling in my mouth was ecstasy. Feeling the power rush through my veins... That was otherworldly... I couldn't help my erection hardening once again, but hearing the small woman's sexy groan, I couldn't help but slowly push back into her. I was so caught up in the moment, I never heard the approaching footsteps. I felt the punch though. That familiar, bus-like impact, followed by a sense of weightlessness. Finally, I hit the ground.

It was strange, all this abuse. I still felt perfectly fine. Like none of these impacts actually injured me. So I crawled to my feet. Sure enough, my clothing was a mess. My pants were only up because I was still wearing a belt, regardless of my exposed erection. But otherwise, I was unscathed. Looking up around me, I glanced at the small woman. She was conversing with the large man from the bar. I distinctly spotted her mouth the word, 'stop' a couple of times. But I wasn't really concentrating on her. I was concentrating on the surrounding Lycans.

More than a dozen, less than two, some were in front, some behind and many more above. I had no idea how I could sense this so easily. I'd have to ponder it later. First, though, the closest Lycan has started the attack. Considering I definitely heard their alpha croak out a harsh, "stop!" I must have inadvertently done something rather terrible. Because it either did not hear or more likely, did not care.

But... Was it just me?... Or was this Lycan rather... Slow... The Lycan had technique. His form was strong and steady. He didn't telegraph his move, he simply reacted. But with ease, I stepped aside and the claws, aimed at my face, passed by in a blur. The sound of rushing wind caught my attention. Looking up, there was one right on top of me... Only... Things that fell usually fell a little quicker than this... Stepping back, the Lycan slammed into the ground where I was standing a moment ago. With almost comical ease, I gave the newest Lycan a firm shove, pushing him into the first.

I was still far to consumed in the moment to gain any amusement from the tangle of limbs before me. Turning around, I was confronted by dozens of snarling Lycans. I had no idea what was going on, but I had no plans to fight this many. So with a final thought for the diminutive woman, I picked the thinnest grouping and charged. Like all that had happened before, it was far easier than it should have been. The Lycans were either too slow or too clumsy to keep up with me. A moment later, I'd broken free. Now I was going to spend the night covering my tracks. Setting trails, false trails, doubling back, I'd probably even spend some time crawling through the sewers. If I couldn't lose them by morning, I'd have to swing through a 'coven' just to keep the Lycans back... And tomorrow night. I'd leave this unfortunate city. It was a shame. I liked the idea of vampires and Lycans cooperating. But I doubted I would be welcome any longer...

*****

It hurt... It hurt so much... Dan held me while I cried, he didn't understand what he had done. My mate may have escaped, but I knew he wasn't coming back. He'd have to stupid, or suicidal to stay after this. And this horrible... Emptiness... Inside me... I just found me mate, and now he was gone... I felt the soft touch of fabric. Cracking open my eyes, Dan was taking a long jacket from another Lycan... The one who attacked my mate first... The one who ignored my orders...

Surging to my feet, I shifted in an instant. Grabbing the much smaller beast by the neck, I slammed him bodily into the ground. He wasn't dead, but he wouldn't get up in a hurry. Whirling around, I took in their fearful expressions before shifting back to my human form.

"I said stop," I whispered. "And when I said stop what did you do?"

A young Lycan shifted back to human before me. I recognised him as the one who leaped from the roof. "Alpha, we did what we thought was right."

"What is right, is my word. AND MY WORD WAS STOP!" I screamed.

Each and every Lycan in attendance bowed their head. If not for outright respect for my position as alpha then by fear of retribution. Turning back to Dan, his loyalty was never in question. He attended to me directly, while the others sought out to harm my mate. Seeing my gaze, he lifted his eyes to meet mine. If not for the centuries of trust, he would never have the gall to do so. But that was one of the reasons I respected him.

"What can I do, my alpha?" He said evenly.

I sighed, shaking my head. "Firstly, stop with the alpha shit. You know better than that. Second, I want you to find him. Tear the city apart, put out a missing person's report to the humans, put a bounty on him for the vampires. I want to know exactly where he is, before tomorrow night. I want him followed and unharmed. Nobody is to approach him. Just find him and get me close."

Grabbing the jacket off the ground where Dan had left it, I threw it over my shoulders. It was getting late and I needed a hot shower. I was in no state to do anything other than rage at my pack-mates. I was a better leader than that. The walk home was as long as it was painful. My mate was truly something else. I kept passing through his scent trails. They overlapped and changed direction, constantly crossing my path. It was painful, fighting the urge to chase him. But I wasn't in a fit state to do so and it was all the more likely I would shift without realising and get spotted by a human. So I gritted my teeth and kept walking.

Dan met me back at the hotel. I lived in a penthouse suite on the top level. He, ever so diligently, collected all my personal belongings and fell into step beside me. Neither of us said a word as we stepped into my private elevator. Neither of us spoke as we stepped out and Into my home. But as I dropped the jacket on the floor and strode naked into the shower... I couldn't hold it in anymore. As I collapsed to the floor, firm arms caught me. I cried, brokenly into Dan's gentle embrace as the hot water washed away the grime from my flesh. I felt a small pang of sadness, knowing I was washing away his scent...

"Ella, we will catch him. I promise, even if it takes a millennium. You will have your revenge," Dan said softly. He'd known over the years that I was a 'do-er' and when things went wrong, I fixed them.

"I don't need revenge, Dan," I cried, looking up at him. "He's my mate."

...Chapter Five...

God's what have I done... I really needed to pay more attention to local laws. I'd been hunted throughout the city. I'd made numerous ventures into the sewer system and still, the Lycans were everywhere. When I spotted a pencil-drawn likeness of myself on television, I changed tactics. With humans watching for me as well, it would be hard to escape notice forever. My abilities to blend into shadows were only as good as darkness allowed. The invention of streetlights thwarted my abilities to move long distances unseen.

In a passing yard, I managed to snag a new set of clothing. I had one of these... Hoodies, I believe they're called. And it covered my face quite nicely. Now suitably dressed, I sought out a coven house. Many centuries ago, I discovered my kind began banding together in groups. They would place themselves under an 'elder' and work together. In principle the idea was sound, a strong leader to defend a younger brood. All became stronger together yada yada. More often than not, these so-called 'elders' pushed their beliefs on their members. More than one was little more than a brothel, more than one was a cult. In my days as a lord, none of their behaviour would have been tolerated.

I had hoped that in this city things would be different... Unfortunately, when I enthralled the guard at the gate, I found something much worse... I had a bounty... It was strict, capture and report. I thought back on the alpha. The way she tasted, the way she responded, the way she smelled. She even seemed to attempt to prevent my being attacked. Was there a chance there were two alphas in this city? With a sigh, I erased my face from the guard's memories. The pale reflection of our kind had no defence against my power, and he went back to his duties. I slinked off into the shadows once more.

As expected, I couldn't charter a flight this evening. I'd already made the phone call. I could have a flight made ready before dawn, but the pilot I'd hired had been drinking and they had nobody that could cover him short notice. So with disdain, I agreed to a flight the following evening. In the meantime, I needed somewhere to stay. And I wasn't keen on climbing back into those filthy sewers. But... The airport was an idea... It also wasn't very far, which was good as the sky was getting light. So with a huff, I set across the city, cutting yet more trails.

By the time I'd avoided all the Lycan patrols, and what I could assume was a vampire search party, I finally arrived at the rear of the airport. I figured the front, where bookings and baggage were, would be under security. Security that was probably bought and had my picture. And while I could enthral a someone face to face, I couldn't over a security camera. The rear of the airport, however, was empty hangars with few people and nonexistent security except an occasional patrol.

Sneaking in here was child's play. The first hangar looked like it would be busy. There was a half-constructed aircraft and toolboxes everywhere, so I passed it by. The second hangar looked more promising. It had a large assortment of crates stacked several metres high. They seemed to be arranged in rows. At worst, I'd be able to enthral anyone who saw me and move to a new spot. But that was unlikely.

Slipping inside, I climbed atop the boxes. Coming in reach of the ceiling I leaped. I was able to grab hold of one of the huge support beams without trouble. With just a little more effort, I hauled myself up and sat in the natural crevice it was shaped with. It wasn't comfortable, but it would give me somewhere to sleep for the day. And in the shadows like this, it was easy for me to blend in. They'd have to shine a light directly up at me to spot me.

*****

I was irate... Only Dan's reminder about my own rules spared that pompous bastard. They'd taken all day to bother ringing to say they had information. When I arrived, I found an overweight, middle-aged man in a silk body stocking. Apparently a security guard had spoken to someone in the night. This individual was wearing a hoodie so he couldn't be identified. Only, the guard couldn't remember talking to anyone. It was just like how a vampire could enthral a human and make them forget. Only, it would take an elder to do anything similar to a fellow vampire. But none alive had the power to completely erase a memory like that...

That in itself was all good information. But the pompous prick demanded I pay him half the bounty for the talk... After bartering down to a quarter of a million dollars, the bastard still looked like I owed him a favour... If only they all knew how close I was to burning this city to the ground... I honestly didn't think I could go on if my mate escaped. I climbed back into my private car. Dan was just getting off the phone when he turned to me.

"A private charter plane dropped off one passenger last night. A private car took them to the Royal Hotel where they paid for a standing penthouse suite." Dan said, checking off details on his fingers.

I couldn't help the hopeful smile that crept onto my face, "is he?-"

"No," Dan interrupted, holding up his hand. "Though security at the Royal confirmed we have our man. A Mr. Droan, that's Droan singular according to his credit card. We've got a phone number too. Though it's currently off, he's not some amateur."

I shook my head, trying to figure out how that name sounded familiar. But it was a question for another time. "So what now?"

"Now," Dan grinned. "His charter just filed a flight plan leaving at 7 pm this evening. That gives him an hour after true sunset to arrive."
