The problem is writing from both pov. It's unnecessary with way too much backstory
I'm sure plenty of people still love it, but the "destined mate" werewolf trope is overused. Worse still, it never made sense in the context of a cross between wolves and humans.
Love at first sight and soul mate are bad enough on their own, they don't get better by adding a magical infection forcing the feelings on you. Probably the best story on those tropes inverts it, with the central female character refusing to be ruled by instinct, rejecting the advances of her "soul mate" werewolf and remaining with her human partner.
I hope you are able to take it somewhere in chapter 2.
I usually hate most vampire/werewolf stories, but somehow you've come up with a new angle that I'm really enjoying!.....Thanks!
