It's also a fact that the wife did not talk to him about her needs nor find a way to agree to change their exclusivity agreement. With nothing unexpected and nothing really enticing about the story, it was just a waste of both my time and the writer's words. Maybe it will actually get better in part 2, but I highly doubt it.
