I thought about holding back a star because I want this story to continue. But that wouldn't be fair, so I scored it what it deserves, 5*s and hope that you will follow up with the next Christmas, or the sister & Josh, or a reason why he's able to see her. Perhaps next time he talks to her about her family.
Please, write.
I cannot properly convey how wonderful this story is.
Thank you for sharing. Very well done.
that was good fed my emotion machine quite nicely tyvm for the read. i have a feeling u had a hard time trying to figure what cat to put it in. it did have a loving wife in it, unless ur one of those death do u part kind.
Great story! And yes it does tug at the heart strings.
I like the way that moreandmore didn't give the ex a name. Relegated her to the nothing that she is.
Next year Marie is driving her new husband Josh to work. They picked up Genevieve early for a lady's breakfast after they dropped Josh at work (giving Genevieve many more minutes with her mom)! 6* Hooyah, salute.
Best i’ve read in a long time. There must be a lot of dust in the air.

Excellent story! :) :) :)
My heart strings were strummed, I really should have unplugged the amp on this one.
This was a very touching little flash that could have been great. I think it was a little too rushed, and felt over before it began. A lot happens with the MC, not only with the ghost of Carrie but also his own daughter, Carrie's daughter, and the girl he gets a date with? We didn't get to properly meet them all, in my humble opinion. All that nitpicking aside, was a nice warm moment for Carrie and her daughter on Christmas eve. Thanks for sharing! I will be looking forward to your next masterpiece!
This is a good read.
I love this song.
For those that font know it look up the title.
And then you did—even though your “strumming” was expected.
That’s talent.j
You win, you got me this time. The bad elf just ran out the door shaking his head. Five......
In today's posted story, MaM noted that this was his best story. I am inclined to agree.
At my age I've seen joy and deep sadness . But this brought tears to my eyes . Poignant is the only word to use . Thank you,
No words but I'm 64 and I have tears in my eyes, just wow.
Great story. Brought tears to my eyes. Not really an LW story though...
Better have a box of tissues when you read this story. I think you've hit about every emotion now. Well done and thanks for your hard work.

That much emotions in a single page story... You are a story teller!! ( Well Done).
This story is similar to an old song by Red Sovine called "Bringing Mary Home." Very touching.
I elected you as a favorite writer some time back. You are worthy of that computer click as this story, which tore at my heart, made clear.
Wow... great story! Sadness, happiness, and so many other emotions... great. Thanks
I rarely comment but this story requires one. Brought tears to the eye of this old curmodgeon.
One of the best stories ever written on Literotica. Thank you. And 5 stars....
Five stars...five stars...five stars...and not enough tears to say how much this story rocked my soul
5 Big stars, What a awesome tale, the universe works in wondrous ways. Thank you for the tears.
WOW, I cannot express how I feel right now. I've seen a lot of death and spent a lot of time by the burial plots and it's never easy. This brought back some memories for sure. Excellent! You Sir are a very talented Author! SaddleTramp even said so, lol. Can you guess how many stars this story is worth? Yep, Another 5 BIG SHINY FAT FUCKING, VERY BRIGHT STARS! Thank you. You are a wonderful Author!
Jesus I have read this at least 20 times and it still chokes me up every time. The emotion that you are able to make the reader feel from such a short story is amazing. Outstanding just outstanding.
You are the best author I have found. You have so many 10 star stories that I cannot wait to read the next one. You need to be on the top line of favourite authors. This one had my eyes watering so much, the ability to do so easily with a short story is a gift you have to hold readers so close. I thank you so much.
Well, you gave me forewarning as I write with tears in my eyes, a beautiful story. Something like this always stirs my soul as and I remember my wife of 40 years, she passed 3 years ago.
sad on some levels, somewhat joyful on others, i wish i could see my late mother, even if its once a year for a few minutes. I would give my right arm for that chance. Very good story and plot. 5 stars from me
Yes, a heart wrenching beautiful story! If this doesn’t stir the soul, I suspect you have none. So well done!
A mix of very deep emotions: sadness, joy, heart wrenching, love, etc. Mighty powerful.
5*

While I've read m&m stories before I don't recall this one. A very moving, sad tale that has been added to my favorites list! Thank you! 5 stars

Heartwarming and sad, this story just grabs you . A classic by one of the best authors, yes author and not just a writer, on this site.
Pretty sure I have read this at least five times. One of the best stories on this site in my opinion.
Started to read, realise I have read it recently, also don't want to cry during lunch break....

Once again the invisible ninjas cutting onions strike!
Beautiful!
11/10!!!!!
Wonderful story, 20 stars! Maybe Josh and Marie will marry and have a baby!
I’ve red thousands of stories on this site and this one n particular I’ve read a few times and loved it each time. You’ve managed to take a few things and incorporate them into a very nice short story thank you
Sorry, I would give more stars if I could. This is fantastic...the tears remind me that once again, I am feeling something. My Carrie wasn't on Christmas Eve...
There are stories written where the words seem to weave a spell around you while reading them. These stories take your breath away at the end. This was one of those stories. The world needs more writers like you.
Great just great jerk face, Cried so hard at the end of 'Reason to Believe', and 'Goldie'.
Now you hit me with another one? Goddamn dude lol
Keep on writing! Big fan
Second reading, and despite your warning, your story strummed the heck out of my heart strings. More like a flamenco rasgueado than a strum. Misted up again just as much as on the first reading. 5*
Stories like these always seem to have me looking around corners, into shadows, listening to foreign sounds for the possibility to see one of my wives again. Hasn't happened yet......but I keep looking.
Absolutely amazing. By far the author's best work. How is this not rated higher?
