All Comments on 'Bruises Ch. 02'

The first two chapters have me sucked into the story, and wanting the marine to finish the job. You have brought life into the characters, and your ability to write a good story keeps me wanting to read more.....Rich

OK story, but I just couldn't get past the sexualization of a wounded soldier. There have been too many wounded American Soldiers, 30,182 so far, and too many American Dead, 4041 so far. No one knows how many Iraqi civilians, women and children are wounded, maimed, or dead. Millions have lost there homes and land and are permanently displaced.

The US has too many children with fathers and mothers who never coming home. Too many children have dads and moms who will never take them fishing, play ball with them, or be able to walk by their side because mom or dad is permantly injured due to the Iraq war.

There are already homeless Vets from Iraq living on our Nation's streets due to post traumatic stress disorder or mental illness due to the war.

I don't have a problem with people who want to write or read this type of story. To each his own. For me wounded and maimed heros should be honored. I am an RN and I have taken care of a lot of amputees and most of them are just trying to cope with thier loss...

Makes me want to read more!

I'm a wounded vet and I am sexually active. I don't believe an RN working with wounded military would write something like you did. We may not have all of our body parts but we are still human and I can identify with the story. Thank you Kathi.

I like the build-up, and the small details in the minds of both mother and son. Very enjoyable.

Great story so far, as far as ms "Not sexy for me", go read something else if you feel that way. No one's forced you to read this anyways. Besides not everyone is the same, everybody's different. That's why were human beings. This is a great story so far, lets see some more.

OK! I only gave this chapter 3 stars for one reason. I felt Martin was right about Bush jr. I remember those years well. The only industries that really prospered were the Military and those that supported the military. The other one was the oil companies here in the US. Make no mistake, Bush jr was backed by oil men and his war on 'terrorism' was a facade just so the US oil barrens can get their greedy paws on the middle east oil. We knew who was responsible for the tragedy of 911 and we knew exactly where he was. Instead of getting him and making him pay for his crimes against us, Bush declared war on something that been around before biblical times. Its impossible to get rid of it. The bible even shows us that the ancient Isrealites even used terrorism against their enemies under the commandment of god. Many servicemen left their jobs to serve having their jobs protected while they were serving. Once served they could go back to those jobs. However, those same jobs became mute once those businesses went under while those soldiers were serving their country meaning they were jobless coming home and eventually homeless by the thousands. All thanks to Bush. So yeah only 3 points for not recognizing someone had a point. Only those that served really had it good and very few of those really made it back to regular jobs. However, those that got injured during active duty got really good benefits which I am happy about being a VET myself. I know some VETs that served their country with honor is not afforded the same benefits as others just because the served less than two years. I think all vets the received an Honorable discharge should get the same benefits no matter the term of service. Anyways sorry for the tirade. It is a very enjoyable story besides that one point. Keep up the good work.
