Masterful_Husbandabout 5 years agoAuthorI don't think you read the original chapter one very well. It's explicitly stated that he's black in the original. In fact, from a narrative stand point, it was the hook I used to get Carly and Jay talking about race.
If the fact that Kyrsten sleeps (off screen) with a black guy before Jay turns off some people is true... ??? Well... I don't really know what to say to that. That would just be sad.
I wrote this to try to write something from the female perspective. It's one of the things I know I need to do to improve as a writer. And writing this story about characters I've fallen in love with allows me to do that. The main line will continue to be my thrust and I'll understand if you feel like you need to avoid these chapters. Thanks for reading and writing, however.
Anonymousabout 5 years agoYou're adding details that didn't need to be added, this ruins some aspects of the story and kills the mystery of others.
- Know your audience, you're posting in raceplay and IR and now Roland is black in a white leaning raceplay story. For some this kills any interest in Krysten and Jennifer.
- When reading chapters readers want to move forward, not go back to the beggining and find out a lot of what they thought is now different, there is now a ripple effect in my head about how this changes the story in later chapters.
Going to ignore this exists tbh, a writer needs to know the golden rule of not adding too much details. Wish I didn't read this.
