It made her laugh, and she felt herself relax, "Okay, now promise me we are going to win this war..."
Movement at the end of the hallway drew their attention, it was the Drak. He grinned, "I should have known what kept you. Oh to be young and in love again..."
Brando nodded at the Drak, then locked eyes with her again, "I'll have to go now honey, to win that war for you..."
She melted into him, and their lips met with unbridled passion. They kissed deeply, desperately, for what felt like an eternity. It probably was an eternity, because the Drak cleared his throat at some point, making Brando disengage. Her need for him was excruciating now, and she knew it was to be denied. Her eyes moistened, and tears started to run down her cheeks, as she cried softly. Brando pulled her close for a last time, "I'll be back soon, honey. We still have a wedding to plan for the solstice, remember? I can't miss out on that..."
She wiped her cheeks, then let go of him, and locked eyes with the Drak, "You take care of him for me, you hear. Bring him back to me with all pieces still attached. Or else..."
The Drak grinned, "You wish is my command, your highness."
She watched Brando walk over to him, her betrothed winked at her, "Don't worry honey, no one has as much to live for as I have. I'll come back for you..."
With that both men turned and walked away, their footsteps reverberating through the stone hallway. Once they had moved out of sight Cassandra turned and ran towards her chambers, to that private sanctum where no one but her maidens would witness her cry.

First, thanks for commenting, it's always appreciated :)
To your questions; the “slow burn” relates to the fact that, in the first chapters at least, there isn’t going to be sex on every page, and it also relates to the fact that it’s going to be a long story leading up to a “main event”.
Second; Yes, Cassandra is very much in love with Brando, but that’s not the unusual love at the end of the harsh road mentioned in chapter one’s description, because that description is meant for the series, and not for the chapter itself.
Last; Cassandra and her maidens are of varied experience, sexually speaking. Polly, for instance, is a true virgin, but Cassandra, as she has had plenty of sex already, is more a “technical” virgin, and yes, Moiga was an anal virgin.
I have a question for you too; did you read the cautionary?
I ask this because that, and the tags, should give you a pretty good idea about where this story is, ultimately, going.
This is a story about great loss, and about finding love again where you least expected it.
The fact that what you expected didn't happen yet doesn't mean it isn't going to happen...
Sniperkingabout 2 years agotwo questions. If it's not too much spoiler territory what do you mean by an unusual love? I thought maybe you were gonna have her fall for the orc chief but she seems really in love with brando. and you said it was a slow burn but they are already pretty intimate. Maybe you meant physically and not emotionally? like the fact that there's no penetration?
Also question about Moiga, was she a virgin before she was sodomized? I'm not sure if she was supposed to be or not as I can reference points that she was and that she wasn't. But that's just curiosity and it seeming kinda contradictory to me.

I wanted to let you know that I just submitted chapter 2 to Lit for publishing.
Things got delayed a bit by the above mentioned map and floor plan, and then the holidays caused even more delay, so thanks for your patience.

While writing chapter two I realized you lot could probably do with a map of Nigawa.
So I made a map, which took a bit of time, which is the main reason chapter two isn’t published yet.
And for good measure I added a floor plan of Bromodin castle’s central keep too.
