Thanks, gbdfa, there is more to come from this evening. It was originally envisioned as one chapter but rapidly grew to the point where it was "unwieldy".

Thanks Fibroid, it's not a structure I like to use all the time but for something like this I really feel it can help to keep multiple motives and points of view clear. I used the same technique in my first novel on the Erenisch forums for a couple of chapters. One day I may get an editor to look at that first novel and attempt to bring it across here.
