I found it difficult to read as my wife almost lost me 6 years ago due to a freak medical mishap
Anon: Thankful that you are still with us to leave your comment as a vivid reminder that at the heart of this story is a cautionary tale to not to let the tyranny of the mundane, squandered time and careless love drain the warm and passion from the soul. Make life and the little moments count for those who truly matter to us. --Sandy
I have read most of the offering for years comp and this has been the best by far
Outstanding story, I kept tearing up throughout the story. Again, well done.
...I've seen a candle burning bright, that turned a fire for us now, and think it'll be a guiding light...
Thank you so very much for this heartwarming story. It's magnificent to see your writing grow and with such ease you build a world and lovely characters for us to follow until the very end.
I don't have words for all the joy finding the hidden small gift boxes filled with style elements, wordplays and so many nice-turning-naughty, that all that's left to say is,
"Thank you for this Merry Fucking Christmas Story."
A truly delightful story. I wish I had had the love and support that Dana received when my wife passed. Dana, has remarkable resilience in the face of losing her husband. Sandy was able to make the story flow beautifully. Some minor punctuation and spelling errors go to the feeling that she wrote quickly choosing to get the story down on paper and then go back to proofread it. It in no way diminishes the story. Great fun and easier to read than some others in the contest.
When a story ignites all your emotions it deserves more than 5 stars. Dana's friends are awesome, all with different character traits that blend together as a whole to lift up Dana in a time of great sadness. They gave her unique and special gifts, she returns the favour with one that has the ability to enrich their lives into the future.
