Words failed her. Mattie's mouth fell open at the sight of this thing. The vortex stretched some more, touching the wall across from her bed. She watched it, angry and black, stretching like taffy until it disappeared. And then she was alone again. Alone in the darkness of her tiny bedroom. Mattie wondered for a second or two what just happened, but she didn't really care. Coach Falconer was right.
She wanted some more.
