One small issue I have with this story is the slingshot. Slingshots need vulcanized rubber or some other similar materials, which weren't invented until the 1800s. If those materials did exist, then they would be used in many places such as tires and elastic stuff.

A weapon that would fit more is the sling because all it needs is string/rope and a small pouch.

Hi Anonynmous I did a quick search and it seems ancient slings and ancient slingshots are the same weapon. Modern slingshots use rubber and are fired directly but the ancient slingshots were rotated around.

This is amazing, please continue to make more of this series. I absolutely live the dynamic of Mel and Allister.
