Too much 'Splainin', not enough Doing.

You could have totally left out all of the explanation of the DNA, as well as the list of The Pony Express's powers/attributes.

Sure I could, but that's not what the requester wanted. The prologue was given by them and it was intended to be a short chapter with several sequels.
