Very interesting start! Very addicting!

Tho' you may have provided much more of a lead-in to this story, I feel you chose just the right place to begin. In a 'take no prisoners' style, you managed to present a story that stands on its own in an all-to-short time (leave the readers wanting). Should you decide to go further with the heroine and the antagonist, you have set the stage for both a prequel and one or more sequels. Write where the heart leads!
