My mind fought to stay awake despite his words, but my body was void of all energy. The harder I tried to fight back, the quicker my body fell into a calmness. My limbs were lifeless, dragged down by imaginary weights, and my head spun. The lights in the alley swirled, fading quickly.
My eyelids surrendered, and the darkness seized me. The last thing I saw was Kieran at the end of the alley as he walked away from me.
